Please help! Did my son lose his account??

Hello,

my son had his clan on my iphone. Today he bought a new Ipod. I wanted to transfer his account to his new Ipod.
I was told to create an account on the game center and load the account. It looks like it loaded my "other" sons account and now his account is GONE! My son can still "view" his old clan on my wife's Iphone so I assume that it's still there, SOMEWHERE?

I know nothing about the game so I'm completely in the dark what to do and my son is having a meltdown.

Did I lose his clan permanently?

Any help would be so much appreciated!

Im sorry but he did lose it. You can't get it back. The account cannot be transferred to another ipod\Iphone\Ipad. He will need to start from scratch.

You have to use the same game center account your son was using on his old ipod

Hi Aidan,

If you have set a Game Center account on his Base then you won't lose it. But if not, then it's safe to say it now floats on CoC server. Unless you canfind the old iDevice and set a GC for it.

did you save that account on gamecenter? If there is a different account on the gamecenter create another one for him cause i think theres a one gamecenter one game limit...
pps this is suppose to be in bugs and problems subforum....

You don't need to, you can just log in with the same Game Center account your son was using in his old one

No you need to link it to the gamecenter only one game can be linked to a gamecenter last i checked....

You should post in the bugs forum. Might get more help there.

But basically the way to preserve and transfer a village is to link it to a Game Center account. Only one village can be tied to any one game center account. Once a village is linked, it is linked forever and cannot be erased.

If your sons village was linked to Game Center then all you have to do is sign in using his Game Center account. If both of your kids use the same one, that means your other sons village was likely attached and yes you likely have erased his village.

Viewing the village means nothing. The game uses unique keys which tie a device to the village. Those keys are either stored in Game Center (a linked village) or on the device. Overwriting an existing village deletes the keys from the device.

Supercell cannot recover lost keys.

In a perfect scenario, his village on your iphone was linked to some gamecenter account (whether your or his, but AN account).

Then, when he gets his new ipod initially setup, you just log into that same gamecenter as your iPhone, download/install CoC, launch it and gamecenter will bring up the saved village (from your iPhone).

If he setup his ipod, loaded SOME gamecenter, launched CoC, and it brought up another son's game, then that means that was the game saved to that gamecenter, not the son's game in question.

Now... is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off son's game still playable on your iPhone? If so, then we can fix this. If not (in other words you have for some reason loaded a different village onto your iphone) then the only way to fix this would be restore your iPhone from an iCloud/iTunes backup (to restore the local-only files that are now gone).

So, more details are needed to give you a better answer.

so much time building their stuff. To makes this a horrible app. That's just me, a dad
speaking. But seriously there should be a unique user name and simply login and
that should do it. Seems ridiculous. He's in his room crying... DAMN.... :(

There is...Apple Game Center. The design is fine, but you have to use it. Also it forces you to confirm before you overwrite a village.

If Twister can't help you, maybe you could buy him a chest of gems or something. It'd give him a head start on a new village.

OK, so that tells me you do not have the upset son's game still on your iPhone or on any gamecenter he may have used to attach it.

In that case, your only hope is to restore from an iCloud backup.

Hopefully you set that up, you can confirm this by clicking settings>iCloud and hopefully there is an account logged in there. Then, the next thing is narrow down date/time you wiped the game, as during this process you will likely be presented with the latest 3 iCloud backups to restore from. You will need to pick the closest one prior to deleting his village.

If you never setup iCloud but are one of the few folks left who plug their iPhone into their computer with a USB cable and via iTunes, do backups of your iPhone data to the computer, let me know, I'll dig up some iTunes backup procedures.

Hi Aidan, to get your sons account on his new iPod make sure you sign into his old game-centre and then download Clash of Clans, the game will ask you if you want to use the old account, accept and you're ready to start clashing! ;)

here's what i did when i thought i lost it, my iPod had been wiped out from my cousin, so i got a new iPhone and i logged into game center *that i had on my iPod* and then i redownloaded CoC and i went into GC and went to CoC and clicked Open/Play and it asked me if i wanted to go into that account and i said yes and then i was back to my account
