ill say something real quick in response to the implied "teens are too immature". Adults are probably the most prevalent here and are just as toxic as teenagers. Heck some adults are worse. not just limited to age

In a lot of cases games try to appeal to kids graphically but many adults play the game too because of the later game design, etc. A good example is kids playing COD and adults playing Pokemon. I feel the game is marketed towards kids but appeals to adults too because of gameplay. Kind of hard to explain, hope you got the point.
Problem for some people is that there is very recent history of just this toxicity from a recently appointed GASP. Let's hope things can improve.
edit - just read that you had spoken with the GASP who is well aware of how he is perceived so at least some insight into how he has upset many people with his attitude
Tons of people come on the forum to proclaim that they are quitting the game, mostly after an update. Lots of them are fresh spawns who have made an account just for this purpose. They are angry about the changes that have been made to the game, and they feel the need to let people know. I feel where they are coming from, because everyone has invested a lot of time and some of them money too in COC. But I also get that it becomes tiring to see it over and over again on this forum.
Holps on the other hand never said he was quitting COC. His frustration is with this forum itself, and that's where it is different. It is sad for many to see him say he will no longer be posting, because it means the loss of a frequent poster who was mostly level-headed, didn't flame and was both humorous and helpful. The more people like this that leave the forum, the worse off it is for people who come here looking for advice or an actual discussion. Or just to get a laugh that's not at someone else's expense.
More likely, the desire is to offer constructive design suggestions in the appropriate sub-forum.
A "This game sux" thread that does not describe the perceived problem and include at least one proposed solution is useless.
If an OP is smart enough to figure out the game is not working right, they should be smart enough to figure out how it would work better. Ideally, they would communicate this in a fashion that encourages the change (politely) rather than in a fashion that encourages a negative response.
Holps, you got it right. Its best to just walk out of here. Its tiring to come in here and read the constant bickering and it has actually turned me toxic to the point I'm just posting out of frustration.
I'll still play this game as I have too much invested but I'm logging out of here. I will just have to learn of the changes from other sources
