Shortly after typing the word nobody ( ***ody) because it censored the first three letters I was banned? I guess I was reported because you censored the word nobody? This is just sad and I'm getting frustrated....
The word tonight gets censored. I saw it come back as to***ht and thought I just mistyped it so I retyped it and then ended up with a 24 hour ban. Thanks SuperCell, thanks for not having an actual beta testing group to catch these OBVIOUS issues.

I don't understand this censor. It really should be an easy, "censor these words". It really shouldin't be all that complicated, just censor the curse words.
Thanks for the input. I've made changes to the word lists and these should go live with the next content update. Keep them coming though, I am sure we still have some false positives out there.
I was reported for the content filter censoring the word archers so it looked like something bad even though it was not please ignore the report.
Can someone Please look into the content filter on global chat as it drives me mental! I've no idea what words you've put through it but I would have thought it would have only needed the main curse words filtered surely?
Its a nightmare to try & have a conversation online with questions with every word coming up like ******n't

I hav eto agree with simmons. Why not censor the bad words or their Leet speak counterparts that people come up with instead of the actual language most people use to convey their thoughts, which is proper use? It makes no sens to try and use formulas to do this as it's obviously censoring more people. Thne you get the report happy twits in global who just report anything censored so you ar enow banned for correctly using the language.. It makes absolutely no sense..

if you have the filter on the chat, shouldn't there be a filter on the clan and player names too? If the filtering is SO stringent, how can you allow some really offensive clan names?
There are a few names with the word "kill" in them. You can't use the name in global, and you get little kids seeing the stars and leaping on the report button.

Another problem is that when I'm talking in global chat I see some people who put an accent on a vowel of a curse word which is blocked like *ϋη* - that word is not blocked! This is not the only word, this happens with EVERY word that is blocked. And because to get someone blocked you need I think 3 blocks done on the same message by 3.different people, so depending on who is in the chat, that person might not even get blocked! Really offensive things they've said to me and other people. One person I remember was called Destroyer and was around level 30. Blocking should be done by the system itself if the word actually is a curse word and the time of blocking should change depending on the word or sentence they've said like saying 'kill' maybe a few hours and "f***" maybe 48 hours.

Then I typed, "lol, I cant say, any of GC users" and it censored it to "lol, I cant say, any o*****C users"
Just highlighting, if not intentional, that "of you global" and "of GC" seems to be getting tricked up. For what it's worth, I was on GC just pinging folks as to bans, as I've never been banned and I see folks discussing bans and my curiosity was piqued. I could see see a curse interpretation of "f you", but the latter sentence with "any of GC" seems innocent, unless "f you" is always going to be caught.

Ban all bad words in Pig Latin as well as Engrish! I understand children are starting to use Pig Latin as a means to say dirty words. This is the Devil's work and must be stomped out by our brothers and sisters at super cell.
Don't just block the words singularly. Make sure you block the words that are part of other words and have spaces between them. The English language is full of subliminal messages like "yes exactly" and words like "Saturday". I never let my children use that evil word.

It's quite simple, the chat filter needs to not filter groups of letters but rather words. If there is a character before or after the restricted word it should not be filtered.
ex. Need a good clan gets changed to Nee******od clan. The filter should see there is an e before and an o after and conclude it's not the filtered word.
While not perfect, this will remove 99% of the false positives that cause so much frustration.

Agree with that part. Ages 14 and under may not be ready for seamless unmonitored interaction with virtual or real life strangers. Would be nice if global chat requires apple id login and if folks are allowed to clan only with game center friends when logged in without entering their apple id.

Not to derail the thread, but this does remind me of third graders (I said you all are acting like a bunch of third graders, and they admitted to being 3rd graders) who got mad at me. It's a funny story, so stay with me.
SOOO the first time I'd been on global in about 3 months I decided to say hi and all. Then this user comes on and says "join my clan. I donate level 3 troops and dark elixir troops." Now somebody pointed out he had <300 DE, TH 7, so donating dark elixir troops regularly was pretty much impossible. Then I pointed out that level 3 troops aren't that great, and said that my troops were currently upgrading to level 5. Now he truly shows his immaturity. First, he rambles on about how I'm stupid, immature, and more stuff that would be classified as cyber bullying (although I was laughing my ♥♥♥ of at the time). So then, he has more 3rd and 4th graders join in saying in all caps, "ETHAN IS STUPID." By now, I was doubled over laughing. Then I said, "so how am I stupid and immature?" Without replying, they kept saying more about how I was a stupid immature little preschooler, when I made the point that if I was a preschooler having a conversation (if this could even be classified as a conversation) it would be pretty impressive. So they kept throwing little elementary insults at me, which only made them seem more immature and stupid, and every time I came back with something to show them what everyone else was (hopefully and probably) thinking of them. Then, of course, they say I am bullying them, I am a bully, and rant and rave about all of their polite insults. Then, showing just how mature he is, the person in question spams the chat saying "ETHAN IS A BULLY. REPORT HIM!" About 30 seconds later, I was banned from chat for 24 hours and told my classmates about it. I should've taken screenshots, but it was honestly the most entertaining thing I've ever witnessed in chat (except for maybe clan mates getting zero stars and no loot with all PEKKA or dragon raids.) And if you're wondering, I never said any insults to any of the little kiddies, but merely questioned their accusations like how I'm a preschooler. And I just remembered something else, the kid who said he'd donate DE troops was a town hall 7 upgrading to level 8 who had clearly gemmed his BK because of his terrible base, and other factors that told me he gemmed it (numerous gemmer signs). So he said he was saving up for his Archer queen, and I said that he was only a town hall 7. He also only had a level 1 DE storage. He then said that it was upgrading and called me a dummy, but he didn't quite realize that town hall 9 unlocks the archer queen.
tl;dr, I had a nice laugh at some 3rd graders who showed exactly what I would expect from someone their age trying to be cool.
