~Ultimate Guide of The Clan Castle~

Welcome to my guide on the clan castle! Many clashers out there don't understand the importance of the clan castle. But hopefully today, you will change your mind.

Now, why is the castle so important? Well, it contains troops which were donated by clan members! You'd probably think that it'd be so awesome if you had a P.E.K.K.A. or a golem in your castle. Well, no it wouldn't be awesome. Those big monsters are so slow, that they really aren't useful for a defense.

But what troops are good to keep inside a clan castle? I'm going to make a list of the top 3 defenders in a clan castle. These are really well defenders for your base, and I highly suggest you use them...

Top 3 Clan Castle Defenders

1. Wizards - Wizards are tremendously good, because they do splash damage, handling more than one troop at a time!

2. Archers - Archers are very good defenders, because they can battle from far distances and kill troops very quickly.

3. Minions - Minions are useful, because they are flying troops. They cannot be attacked by some ground troops like barbarians.

The reason why all of these troops are good, is because they can attack air and ground units, and they do great damage.
Why The Clan Castle Should Be In The Center

Well, it's simple. You want the radius of the castle to touch every part of your base. You want to really protect the whole base, not just one part of the base. If you look at some of the best bases on these forums, they all have that clan castle in the center. You'd probably think, well it doesn't contain any resources or trophies... Why should I protect it? You want to protect it, because it is probably the fourth most important category of building there is. First comes Town Hall, Resources, defenses, and then the clan castle!

Ultimate huh? Sorry to break out to you, but dragons are the best defensive unit on the CC.

CC can also be used on offense, in which case a PEKKA or Golem may be very useful depending on your army build. To be the ultimate guide, might you also want to talk about cc as an offensive tool?

As for stating that cc has to be centralized...meh...depends on your set up. Maybe it's good there...maybe not. Maybe it's great in a spot where you need to fill a defensive hole. Maybe it belongs next to your th while trophy pushing? Maybe not. I struggle a bit with this being an in-depth, or ultimate, guide.

Qredett - I'm currently waiting for town hall to upgrade. That's in 2 days. I purposely made this base to protect resources more.

Pekka and golems dont have splash damage.



e. Why are you going to townhall 8 so soon..? You have a good amount of stuff to do, especially walls.

You probably never had a golem in your castle to say that they sûck, along with pekkas... Very bad guide IMO, the point is if you get the pekka or dragon in the middle of your castle they will draw other troops attention, they may not kill the troops, but your defences will

Let's say you're upgrading town hall 8 and you are maxed out. That's 8 days of nothing to upgrade! When I could upgrade the town hall 8 and get some stuff done during that time. I barely had any level 6 walls before the upgrade. Now I have almost all level 6 walls. Just sayin'...

Level 6 walls are pretty much the minimum for going to townhall 8 and u could always save some defense while going to tie hall 8

Faster?
In terms of what?
Wizards and drags have the same attack speed and movement speed.

I don't think wizards is a good defence.
Archers are definitely the best.
If you've paid attention to clan troops, not all of them always move in a pack.

Sometimes clan troops are just so scattered that your beloved splash is of no help at all.
Wizards just die too easily when enemies aren't close to each other - they are at a disadvantage due to their slow attacking speed.
And if you're talking about defense, a decent player would know better than to deploy all troops on one spot.

Archers are first on my list, and dragons second.
Don't forget that dragons don't disappear if they aren't killed.
Since they have very high health, killing them isn't easy.
It's especially true when you have good defences around your castle perimeter/clan troops.

Also, I wouldn't say golems/pekkas are useless, considering you haven't even a golem before.
I've attacked someone who had a golem from his castle.
It took almost half the amount of my archers to kill it because it was in the range of mortars.
I had to lure it away from the main base when my archers died after the golem came out.


A clan castle is useful depending on where you place it and what you have inside it.
All troops have their strengths and weaknesses, and therefore,
you can't really say that one is much stronger than the other.
Each troop serves its own purpose.
It all depends on what your castle contains and how you place it.

OP - cancel the TH8 upgrade and work on your base. Start by redesigning and using your own advice on the CC. It's a good post but definitely add Dragons, their splash damage is incredible in defense and if CC is centered and attacker doesn't lure then a Dragon can wipe the whole army.

Instead of useless insults, how about giving advice and something useful information instead?

All units can be useful in the CC on both defending and of course on attacks. On defence, it depends a lot on the style of base and location of the CC. If I may suggest how to change the guide is to compare the different units and find the pros and cons of each of them.

I don't like dragons for defence. They get killed by archers waaay to easily. They work great against healer/giant combos though.

1) Can your CC be lured before they get in your base? If so, change it.

2) How many archers do they have to waste to kill one Dragon? It completely softens their attacking army. Plus they have to take the Dragon somewhere to kill it. Don't give them that opportunity and keep all your buildings tucked in tight so your defenses can also be wiping out the archers too.

Unlurable CC with a high lvl golem in it is seriously a great defensive unit. I've had the privilege of getting a lvl 5 golem in my castle a few times and I've watched as an attacker tried and failed to kill it while my other defenses laid waste to their army. On that same token having a dragon in your CC does serious work on a army when all they can use to kill it is archers.

Unlurable CC with high lvl tier 3 troops can be a force to be reckoned with.

Yes, its not perfect, but I believe its because you dont have the experience of ever having a Pekka or Golem in your CC, thus you cant fully tell their effectiveness in your cc and have to use your opinion. I do agree with the others saying a dragon is better for your troops than a wizards, perhaps its because youre looking at who does more damage rather than who will cripple the enemys troops more. A dragon in my mind does a better job getting rid of as much of an attackers troops than archers or wizards. Thank you for taking the time to making a guide trying to help the community, making your first guide is always gonna come with criticisms, but dont let that deter you, just learn from your mistakes and do better next time! :D

I have around the same number of posts as you yet I havent made a guide myself since im afraid ill do things wrong and such, yet youre brave enough to do so, so that in itself is an achievement!

Cancel your TH upgrade before it is too late! You shouldn't be a Lvl 44 at TH 8! I was a lvl 65 before I chose to upgrade to TH8. You want to max each Town Hall before you upgrade to the next.

If you have the Clan Castle centralized you will have a better defense which turns into better protection for resources :P If Clan Castle centralization doesn't help to protect resources more than why do it?

First...learn from the feedback! Your guide was well-organized, just incomplete. From years of lurking and being an active member of message boards for various games here's some advice:

a)Don't pull a hair flip just because you get micro-flamed. No one has really laid into you. Look at the feedback as constructive, not critical. Pulling a "omigod never mind ignore my thread" only hurts your reputation.

b) Avoid describing a guide as ultimate, elite, boss or amazing-perfect-lolzbbqomg. You set yourself up for increased scrutiny by inflating the usefulness of your own guide.

C) I have rarely, if ever, seen a first draft guide become the holy grail without multiple edits. Guides are a work in progress. Writing a guide and expecting it to be amazing off the get-go is, even under the best circumstances, unrealistic. Create your guide, ask for feedback, edit/repeat.

D) Finally, lurk in the forums prior to posting a guide. Do a good search, read other threads...make sure you're not reinventing the wheel and use good guides as a template. Check the feedback others have gotten to get a sense of the way the community responds. If even great guides get flamed for minor imperfections...then you'll be prepared for the inevitable unhelpful, yet funny-as-heck meme.

I personally love golems in a centralized clan castle....4500 HP at level 1 plus golemites....totally disrupts an attackers raid strategy.

No mention of wizards survivng a lightning strike, dragon being useful for this reason also.
