The journey to level 200

Just resumed playing after a 4 week break. Finally reached level 199. Very difficult to progress after level 195. Boat/truck requests are most enormous, lol! I don't fool with the town as I simply don't have the requested items!
I've found it imperative to have a large barn to accommodate hundreds of bread, milk, popcorn & juices to fulfill a few orders for shipment.
I will only play on occasion after reaching level 200 as this has b/c very boring as well as a major time bandit. My respite from HD made me aware of how unimportant it is & that there's many other things I prefer doing.
The last update was most disappointing for me. I had hoped for some new production machines or something that would
motivate me.

WOW -- WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT! I wish you well on your plodding journey to 200. I am not in any hurry myself to get to Level 116 LOL

I've been wondering about you. Where you were and why you suddenly stopped writing. Glad to know that you are fine and nearly at your goal. Yes, the new update was quite a 'downer' for a lot of people. I think after the long wait and big build up a lot of folk feel rather deflated. Please tell me what happened regarding the baby farm you were starting. Curious minds would love to know!

200 is an achievement indeed! I am here still trying to get to level 100. I blame school on that though. Professors need to really allow time for farming. I mean, c'mon profs. Farming is a "thing". :smirk:;)

Maybe we will get some new exciting stuff this summer and you can aim for 300!

I'm curious about a few things. How long has it taken you to reach level 199? Also, what have been the motivating factors in continuing for so long? I'm finding that after reaching level 100 and completing the town, I am losing my enthusiasm.

Well, the baby farm is inactive. I simply don't have the time to keep 2 farms going.
I have RL horses & dogs so they must be my first priority.
And, I've started dating a great guy, which is much more exciting than baking virtual pies!
My break was so refreshing, it was difficult to pick up my tablet again.
i did set 200 as a goal after reaching 100. It's so tedious as one progresses due to the stars required to complete a level. Level 199 is almost 1.8 mil. Fortunately, I can fill my machines in the a.m. & once n awhile again in the evenings & make some progress. If I have 70 carrot juice or 164 bread I can do quite well on a truck rider or two.
I do think anyone getting beyond level 150 with a barn less than 5-6000 will find the game extremely frustrating.

I started playing as soon as HD launched.
Sadly, my husband died 18 months ago. Therefore, I had a lot of down/alone time to fill.
As I previously mentioned, the last update was a downer for a high level player. I don't need a new tree or flavor of an existing item, I need things that enhance the game.
As far as the town, I lost interest as well, after maxing the buildings out.
The higher level we are, the more demanding orders & requests seem to be.
I've never had 30 jelly beans, 60 lobster, 85 cherry juice, etc., available for truck orders.
I fill a lot of help crates and have maintained a good position n the global LB.

I'm only level 106 and some of my truck orders seem ridiculous, I would love to see what some really hard truck and boat orders look like!

Congratulations Gertie, I have been playing now for just over 2 years and have also set level 200 as my final target. At my current rate of a level every 15 days and expanding this exponentially I should be free of this addiction in about 2 and a half years!!!

Orders are no dif' other than massive amounts!
since I have very little time to play, I think it will take 10-15 days to finally reach 200!
never again will I devote so much of my tie to something so utterly ridiculous (MOO)
its a good thing for me the new update didn't expand the game!
I've never had any desire to reconfigure my farm so the update offered me nothing.
Im in awe of the farms beyond 300 level. It's not even conceivable to me, to get so far!

I have been playing for nearly 3 years and am just about at level 120. Hard to imagine getting to 200😁

Congrats gertie, i wish u would get another golden tree for reaching 200. In 3 days, my 2nd year anniv comes lol and am still at lvl 97. Hope u do another journey thread to lvl 250. I have 1 question for u, wat motivates you to keep playing this game? coz am nt even at lvl 100 n am bored of this game due to lack of new stuffs.

This is a very boring game, after a point!
One thing that helps me is having max slots, I can fill machines & collect once a day & progress a good amount.
I'm no longer doing the Derby. Nor do I ever sit & play for any length of time.
As previously stated, the last update was a bummer, for me. I had hoped for something new to generate more stars. Al in all, I believe I'm done with virtual products, lol!

*for the last few months, the only challenging aspect has been getting Derby tasks a high level player might elect to do. The last Derby I was in I had to wait 3 days to get a 320 task. I know this is a hot topic on the Derby thread!

Glad you're still playing, I didn't see any posts from you in a while and i thought you'd quit. Good luck getting to 200!

I prefer RL activities & face to face convo. It seems these games b/c so addictive it's easy to get over involved & neglect RL friends, tasks, etc., at least for some of us.

OK I imagined it, now my brain and barn both hurt. At level 193 I may do one of those if over 3000 exp (while wincing at the waste of stuff that I could put on a boat- my pet thing lol) but otherwise all in the bin! I expect that policy would go out the window pretty fast if I was level 199-and-a-half, lol.

Someone earlier asked about truck order sizes. To answer that, on my board now (not particularly assiduously culled) I have 18 silver bars for 1081 coin and 1889 exp, 13 toffee for 2327 coin and 2333 exp, 10 toffee and 10 wax for 1058 coin and 4307 exp, and the lowball offers of only 1207 exp and 1536 coin for 5 sheherd's pie and 5 blue sweaters and 1300 exp and 517 coin for 6 toffee apples. I may send the first and third, keep the second and fifth as maybes, and that fourth one in the bin. Mostly for me if it can go on a boat, it's not going on a truck, unless the exp score is very tasty. The other 4 orders there are rubbishy, too much good stuff for the mediocre return. They will go in the bin when I get round to it.

You are actually in an exciting phase of the game. Lots of new things come quickly. It gets tough from arond Level 25 to level 50, when coins are hard to come by. After level 50, usually you begin to have plenty of coins, and things get easier. Things can also get dull, if you don't find a part of the game that keeps being interesting. That is different for everyone.
I am at Level 106, and have changed my game focus several times. Level 200 feels like a very long way away for me, but I am not in any kind of a hurry. So I hope you keep working on things until you find a game focus and pace, that is
right for you.

Have you tried other games and come back to hayday? Or are you exclusive to this one game?

I'm at level 158. I tend to evaluate my game very 10 levels. I have had moments when I wanted to quit. They only last about 30 minutes, then it's back to the business of playing. I have firmly said I would quit at levels 50, 100 and 150. So maybe by the time I am at 200 I will stop. Who knows. I truly love this game. I love my nh most of all. Without it I am sure I would have stopped playing long ago.

I haven't been able to play since my last update, just got time to collect/refill!
i need 300k ex puts b/f I hit 200!
HD is the only game I play, I call it my Time Bandit, lol!
horrific storm yesterday left me w/no wifi & elec in/out!

if I Can play tomorrow, I should advance to 200! I plan to only do truck orders offering 2,500 ex pts or more!
once I reach 200, my play time will be drastically reduced until such time the game is enhanced. Levels are horribly long, IMO, something is needed for high level plavers that will offer some ex pts!
new bushes or flavors of this or that do absolutely nothing for me as I have never derived pleasure from any virtual product I've produced.

Level 199 was the most grueling level, so glad to have it behind me!
Those of you continuing to play past 150 will quickly see HD becomes more stressful due to the complexity of truck/boat/town requests.
It'd be wonderful if SC can do an update for us that will give experience points other than those from fulfilling orders. When levels are almost 2 million experience points & the orders are ridiculous amounts of the most obscure items we produce, progress is S L O W! I often had 2-3 days w/o shipping an order!
And, if you do plan to continue on, get your barn BIG. Orders are voluminous!
I will freshen my farm up over my morning coffee, if time permits. That's it for me until such time there's some type of enhancement offering some major experience!
For now, I've seen enough virtual baked goods!

Higher levels are stifled, IMO. The outrageous orders are impossible to complete. How many of us have 17 lobster tails in our barn? If I have a tail, it promptly goes into a machine!

I earn most my XP by filling crates. I've maintained a "nice" position on BLB!
As far as the town, I stopped messing with it at 40!
If I can make my truck orders, the XP is HUGE! Just sent one for over 9k! Therefore, I'd much rather save my McDs for trucks.
I filled machines this a.m. & refreshed them this evening. I had a few orders I could make!

And despite the ability to level up town buildings so much...your still opting for Trucks instead.

Insomnia strikes, lol! Just collected/refilled....
My town shops are maxed out, I don't need the EMs!
Truck orders I am able to make offer massive XP!
However, out of curiosity, I did my town. Well...I tried!
To sate the greedy folk I need 6 Feta salad, 3 Feta pies, 4 jelly beans, 6 lobster tail, 3 lollipop & 9 blue hats.
Simply not worth it, for me! A truck order requesting jelly beans w/give 5k or more XP!
This evening, I'll collect/refill, hopefully make a few truck deliveries!
XP comes quickly after 150 level or so. With little play since reaching 200, I have over 200k XP on 201!
I don't need the coins so XP is the only thing to go after.

I play alone in my 'hood! Earlier, I had members, but D R A M A made me revisit the NH concept!
I don't do derby each week! As I explained earlier, at my level, it's pick & choose! When I do Derby, I do all boats/trucks!

Level 200 has been very smooth! Nice XP on truck orders. I fill up in a.m. & once again at some point during the day! Hope to complete 200 one day!

i was soooooo hoping for double truck XP & had three orders saved, each over 4900 XP. But, boat season once again!

I agree. Once you have all machines and land, it is a bore.

Hey everyone! Thought I'd drop in & update you. I'm now at level 207. Levels seem to go quickly, providing I can make the massive truck orders.
Rarely do I mess with the town. The items requested are ridiculous!
The update is awesome, IMO, as far as new machines. I wasn't excited to have more items produced on existing machines as it's problematic enough to find juices, jams, ice cream w/o adding more flavors to the mix.
i do find it irritating higher level players can't have more production slots or second sugar/dairy/sauce machines. Perhaps SC will address this eventually. Whereas a lower level p,Ayer might need 6 strawberry cakes to ship an order, I might need 18. It's difficult to get enough product to fill taco, sushi, pasta makers. The amount of cheese, sauces necessary is absurd.
ive yet to make any products with oranges or peaches. For me, it matters none what I drag into production.
I joined a NH of 12 last derby. Next week, I'll be solo again. It seems to not work out week, for me. Members refuse to opt out bc they want the rewards yet they fail to do tasks. Therefore, those of us working towards our derby achievement are required to buy extra task to compensate for those that don't play fair.

Focus on trucks. Pick the highest XP ones. I don't do anything under 1000xp unless it's for crops. I'm not sure what the highest is at your level. The jewelry and ore bar orders bring you vouchers. Unless you are coin poor, go for the XP in everything you can. Have fun!

No, she isn't. Check out the top of the global boat board on your dock to see the first 6, who are all over level 300.

With little play time, mainly keeping machines filled, a few swift trips thru DD, I can do 150-200k XP daily. Never enough time.

Have you noticed some levels are excruciatingly slow?

For me leveling up in 50's were slow back then....am at level 101 currently. I dont do trucks/boats unless its really easy or I have all the products to fill, i do concentrate on town though. Am playing this game since April 2014 so am playing over 2 years and am only at level 101 and you being a sinere to me and very experienced, i would like you to ask some questions about my gameplay. Is it good to just play slow?? Is it good to do more trucks/boats?? Outta boats and trucks which s better to concentrate on?? I have a barn size of 4200 and is it good size for my level??

Prasanna, play YOUR way! I do equal boats/trucks, preferring trucks, bc they offer more XP.
This a.m., I've had orders for 67 milk, 41 carrot pies, 112 bread, so a large barn is necessary.
Ive found the town folk request things that interfere with my truck orders, so I opt for truck. I play to level up. Not for decor, virtual money, etc. and, once one reaches a certain level, decor goes to storage bc there's simply no room for items. Therefore, I wish I had never used diamonds on a few specialty items.
Produce orders are also very large. 350+ of requested produce for truck!

You don't have to give up your town. Play how you wish. As earlier stated, my town folk request too many lobsters, candy, cheese, cream, sugar. All things I need. I end up with a bunch of odd looking maniacal folk scampering around my town, lol.

Hey guys, thanks for ur suggestions in leveling up, but as Gertie stated "Play as you wish", and by all means (text being what it is) i don't mean that in a negative way. I've taken 2 "breaks" from HD already, one being a year and another a couple of months. i really enjoy this game and don't want to have another year long break so i like to do the things i enjoy, rather than what levels me up or not. As it seems, things get pretty boring at the higher levels so best to enjoy it while it lasts, lol! i tend to level up about once a week so some days i just can't play in order to slow it down a bit, but i'm a stay at home mom so "time" spent on the game isn't too much of an issue for me. i just find this this thread really interesting expecially since i'm starting to notice changes in my town orders. it's kinda like a cheat, so you know what's in store for you, lol!

If you would like to see what orders are requested for higher levels just go to the top of the boat leader boards and watch the levels 300+ filling their crates.:)

Boats are not too difficult.

In in response to those mentioning the 300 level players, I noticed one went from 275 to 300 in two days last year. How?

Yes, the difficulty doesn't seem much different to normal. Doesn't appear to jump exponentially, anyway. The huge difficulty, as I see it, is in setting up your team to sustain this enormous output day after day. You have to salute their perseverance.👏👏👏

When I'm in a large hood, I'm the one supporting lower level farms. I have friends that have small barns requiring them to sell frequently. Also, they need coins.

Hope everyone is having fun with the latest update. I flipped to level 215 today.
Not sure about my town as I don't put much effort into it due to the difficulty in satisfying the customers.
Personally, I don't care much for the update. For a higher level farm supply can't meet demand.
IMO,SC need find something to offer higher levels. Maybe more production slots, a new game within the game. Anything!
So, if I play, which is generally a fill up in the morning & again as I unwind at night. I fill up all machines, ship orders, flip thru DD, etc.
I no longer participate in the derby or belong to a hood, tho I should in order to get the trading achievement,I suppose.
Have all machines mastered so the final achievement is all I miss.

..,,,,wanted to add, if any of you experience frustration searching for items to fulfill orders, imagine looking for 64 carrot juice, 56 wax, hundreds of bread or popcorn. This game,as it is now, is not geared for high level active farmers.
The Taco machine, for example,where is one to find enough cheese, bacon,etc., to fill the nine production sets? Impossible!
Never will I purchase max slots on new machines.

Yes, for me it's taken a great team and lovely helpful friends, and I greatly appreciate their help.

You're right that it's not exponential, it creeps up slowly in the quantity asked per crate on boats (I'm no great trucker, I think I sent one this week... Or was that last week?). One thing sure hasn't changed though from the first day I opened that boat dock over 200 levels ago, and that is my capacity for horror at what is asked by any cream or brown sugar boat. I'm betting most of us have that in common, whatever our farm level. (Sink! Sink! Bottom of the river for you, bad boat!)

Tomvile, the truck orders are massive,are they not! If I ship 20 trucks, I reduce inventory appx 1,000 pcs. Maybe more if bread, popcorn or mik orders included. Supply can't meet demand for high levels, it's impossible. Unless, of course, one uses diamonds to expedite production.
i try todo 100k XP on days I play. The game is very tedious. I've produced enough virtual product for my lifetime.
it matters none to me what flavor product I produce. I simply find no excitement in a virtual lemons or picking peaches over olives.
I fill machines with anything just to keep them rolling, since I purchased slots!
Hoping for something for those of us the have played for years, purchased many diamonds, achieved a high level.
something the lower level player may aspire to achieve.

When do the truck orders start to get so big? I'm on level 128 and I like doing trucks. Most of them are pretty easy asking for a few items only. Of course there are the odd few asking for 40 sugars or whatever but I remove those. I do get orders for 60+ popcorn or bread but I like to do those sometimes and it's not that many if you do them only for derby tasks and not every day. I remove the one's for milk because I rarely have enough. It sounds troubling that the quantities get so large. Of course with my playing style it will take years before I'm on level 200. :)

The truck orders consistently increase in quantity. I'm sure everyone notices this.
i don't mind other than it limits the number of truck orders I can ship as I don't have 300+ juices to fulfill orders requesting 40 or so juice. I try to keep a cpl hundred bread,popcorn, milk & bacon. I only have minimal time to flip tru DD.

of course truck orders must increase as we level up. Otherwise, we'd ne'er level up. Almost 2mil XP for my current level.

I'm a long ways from 200. On level 76 as of right now. I have just started playing again after a really long break lol. I do think it would be nice if hay day offered more incentives once reaching the lvl 100, 150, 200+ mark.

I dont bother with truck orders anymore. Not worth it except when theres an event that calls double ticket vouchers on jewelry orders

I'm level 220 and mine aren't particularly big, or at least most of them aren't. The biggest one on my board right now is 15 brown sugar and 15 goat milk (no I am not going to send it, I love my sugar too much!). Playing the way you describe I doubt it will ever be any great bother to you; it would only be a drain if someone were wanting to send a high volume of trucks per week while limiting trashing. Like you, I just trash the silly ones, as the board refills fast with better choices.

I sold all of my stock. Have found a dif' game to play, if I ever find time. I'll check back to see if any updates renew my interest in HD. Maybe this winter on a cold, blustery day.

Good job Major Tom. You have a lot of time to play, evidently. To progress w/o doing truck orders is difficult,imo
i just bought two new quarter horses. The next two months, I will be saddled up most days to take advantage of the crisp fall air!

How fast are you guys moving through levels? At level 57 it's taking me 2-3 days per level and I feel like it's going to get a lot longer fast

Good to know, thanks! I haven't found it a problem now because I trash a lot and just do the easy ones. The only time this would be a problem is during a truck task because I like to get them done pretty fast and don't trash as much. Even the more difficult ones asking for dairy or sugar etc are usually for quite small amounts. There are only a few of the really bad ones and it's nice if it stays that way.

I don't really follow how long it takes but it is weeks for me at least right now. I'm on level 129 now. Maybe not a month, I'm not sure. But I don't go looking for xp. I just do the things I like doing and level up when I level up. I just feel there is no benefit in leveling up because you don't unlock anything new anymore. I just keep playing because I like the everyday farming, not because I have a level I want to get to. The achievements are something I keep an eye on but even they will just happen when they happen. I understand if someone gets bored with the game because of a lack of challenges but I don't think it's going to affect me any time soon because I've just liked the basic things you do from the start.

You're right there, it takes longer and longer as you level. How fast for me depends on what I am doing and how often I am playing... but it's slow!

You are right there. Just went up to 129 today. Usually takes 2 to 3 weeks, depending on what else is happening and how often I can farm.
