While I understand the perspective of those who have said that they like to reserve their shops only for NH members, and I empathize with those who have been bedeviled by what Tigger calls "enthusiastic shoppers," I also have always believed that once an item is put in the shop for sale, it's open to anyone and everyone to buy one, none, or all.
That does not mean I have no compassion for those who feel afflicted, or disagree with those who wish the Boat Leaderboard/Event Recent Contributors/Last Helpers tab would go away or be modified.
In my view, one of the best aspects of Hay Day is its wide-open style. Anyone who downloads Hay Day can play their game their way, in the way that makes them happy, AS LONG AS they do not violate any of the SC TOS (automating, etc). And in mY years in the forum, over and over it's the player-devised "rules" that have generated the most discussion and sometimes toxic postings here.
"Raiding", (or if you prefer "enthusiastic shopping")-- what it is/isn't, why it happens/how it can't happen, how it should/should not be stopped, what SC could/would/should or should not do about it -- has always been one of the hottest topics on this forum, going back to the very beginning. I think it's good to see thoughtful reasoned posts on this subject, just so everyone can understand the perspective of the other side.
And I will also say this: this thread has gone on longer than I expected, given how quickly some of the "raiding" threads of old were shut down. That's a testament to the good measured discussion here.
Speaking only for myself, I do respect shop names of "please only buy 3," even when an ad has been placed. But that's just the way I play: that's certainly not anything that I think should be binding on everyone else, especially when an ad is placed on that shop. Remember this is a global game and folks who don't speak English can't ever get that message.
Please also bear in mind that only a tiny percentage of Hay Day players even know about the forum, and therefore will never see this thread, participate in this discussion, or even be aware of the feelings expressed here about the RSS.
That's why I personally approach my shop with the attitude of buy one, none, or all -- that attitude works for me and how I play my game. But I also like to be tolerant of the playing styles of others, when I become aware of them. Now it's time to have fun playing Hay Day!! :)
