For the Sauce Maker and the salad bar.

I wasn't going to post any more new threads, after a few of my last threads because they seemed to become arguments. But here goes:

THE SAUCE MAKER
We need salad dressing for the salad, tartar sauce for the fish and chips, gravies (maybe later), steak sauce (maybe later), etc., etc., etc. Anyway, why don't you just create 2 or 3 types of sauces/dressings. One will be light-colored and be "Light Sauce" (and be a light-colored sauce in the bottle). This would represent all types of light-colored sauces. Another would be a dark-colored bottle which would represent the dark colored ones (for example, steak sauce, dark salad dressings, etc.; and could be written as "Dark Sauce"). The third one could be a medium-colored one, but that isn't important.

THE SALAD BAR
What's up with this!?! It doesn't look like a salad bar. It at least needs a counter, like the sandwich and sushi bars.

Tartar Sauce

You've mentioned the tartar sauce idea before. I was thinking we needed more ingredients for tartar sauce that we currently do not make.

I think the only place tartar sauce could be used would be the in the town. The townies add a tartar sauce option to their orders. I am unsure if SC would go editing ingredients for those who can make both fish and chips (unlocks at level 41) and sauce (>= level 54). Ingredients have not been edited before. Only prices have.

I suppose there could be a new machine that provides some kind of a fish dinner (post-level 54) where you could make fish and tartar sauce but that doesn't sound very fun or exciting to me and sounds purely like a reason to make an item using tartar sauce.

I think it would be better if we reserved sauces for potential new machines we might get.

Salad Bar

I don't have an issue with the appearance of the salad bar and would prefer we keep it the way it is. I think it's fine the way it is. It works for the old-timey time period of HD. ;) I go a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has a salad bar that's pretty small. It works.

I would prefer SC work on new stuff instead of changing the way machines look. I just want new stuff is all. Something exciting and new is what I seek in future HD updates.

Plus some end up not liking new machine designs, as has happened in the past. I think it's good to leave machine appearances alone.

Aside from the feta salad, we already have dressings on the other salads (mayo or olive oil).

Personally I think the Sauce Machine is already overworked.
Soy Sauce for 3 kinds of sushi
Olive oil for salads, veggie bagel, corn dogs
Lemon Curd for lemon pies and cakes
Tomato sauce for hot dogs and veggie lasagne
Mayo for sandwiches and salads.

I just hired Tom for a day yesterday to help me stock up on tomato and soy sauce.

MAYO IS NOT A SALAD DRESSING IN ITSELF. I think mayo only as salad dressing is gross. Mayo might be an ingredient in it, but is not a salad dressing. Bleu cheese dressing, Ranch dressing, Russian dressing, Italian salad dressing, and Thousand Island, for example, are salad dressing.

Mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, steak sauce, salt and pepper etc. are condiments. These are not salad dressings.

Hey, what about just having a little stand with baskets that shows baskets that has little packets in them--ketchup, mustard, salad dressings, etc. It doesn't even have to be in the machines or made or anything. Just a LITTLE stand we can place by the food machines.

I know Mayo is not a dressing and too find it gross but it's what we have. :/ I don't know if SC would edit ingredients. That hasn't been done before.

Ketchup is not used as a salad dressing in HD currently but ketchup + mayo makes thousand island. Maybe a possibility?

We don't make mustard or steak sauce in the game currently. No salt or pepper either. I bet the salt and pepper just magically get there. Lol.

Maybe mayo on salad is different in HD land. Better than RL. ;)

You seem to be missing the point that others are making. There is no real reason for changing/adding to the ingredients of our salads or changing the way our salad bar looks. Needing to add these ingredients would force the designers to change something that I'm sure they already thought through before introducing it into the game.

Do you get a big thrill in criticizing my ideas and suggestions? Because you seem to be doing that to every thread I post. What's your problem?

SC doesn't even take out ideas anyway. I haven't seen one idea or suggestion that SC took that had to do with machines or buildings anyway? It's only decos and how to play the game that seems to get noticed. Whose building ideas did the production machines come from? Whose ideas did the town buildings come from? SC doesn't take ideas of buildings in the town and machines on the farm, anyway.

When I comment on posts in the IFR section, I either am:

--pointing out the existence of the must read sticky
--agreeing with the idea
--disagreeing with the idea
--offering some additional information that might not have been realized when the suggestion was made

So, no, I am not getting some "big thrill" in criticizing your ideas and suggestions.

I am trying to offer some guidance. I gather from some of your posts and threads that you are still trying to learn the ropes of the game. I am just trying to (gently, what I assumed to be gentle, at least) assist in aiding you with that. You've asked questions and I and others have answered your questions. Either you saw them and read them and did not reply or you have yet to go back and read your threads. I know you asked some questions in General that were answered.

In your threads, I offered my own opinions of the your suggestions. I feel my comments offered constructive criticism. I too play the game and I felt it necessary to chime in with what I would like to see from SC. I suppose I see SC differently from you, in that I feel a portion of the ideas here are indeed fair game for them to implement. :)

In your threads, I also offered some additional information regarding levels and how things might not work as clear-cut as previously thought. There are a lot of ideas given but sometimes there is more to consider (not just with your ideas, but others as well). I was trying to offer some information you might not have, in case you are not at that level yet.

Also, I have been on the forum for about 3 years so I have read a lot of opinions and gotten a bit of an idea as to the likes and dislikes. Stuff like machines getting changed likely won't fly over well (unless it's changing back the soup machine to the original soup machine ;)). So sometimes, I am also offering input on previous things I have read on here. I try and note such a thing, as needed. I did that in the post you quoted.

Additionally, for the record, I have agreed with some of your ideas in the past.

Players wanted bees and honey for a long time and we got that. Because we got bees, we got beeswax. I had seen requests for beeswax and candles as well, so those were both put into the game.

I saw people request clothes too for awhile and then we got the sewing machine. Speaking of clothes, I just remembered you asked for overalls once. I can't recall if I replied to that, but I like your overalls idea a lot. I really hope that makes it in the game.

There's been non-building and non-production machine ideas get implemented in the game as well.

Yes, I have suggested tartar sauce before and I have suggested PISTACHIO NUTS often too. There is no crime in re-posting ideas, especially when I can't even go back to that original idea in the first place. I have even gotten to my screen name and still didn't find the post under the list of my threads. If u don't like my repeated posts, don't respond to it..

P.S. just mayo as a dressing is gross.
