Building Graphic Changes with Damage
Here's my little idea...
Right now, when an attack is in progress, the building's health indicator drops, and then the building suddenly disappears to be replaced by a pile of rubble. How about a series of increasingly degraded graphics for each building that get successively more "damaged looking" with holes, pieces missing, structure sagging etc, before it finally turns into a pile of rubble (along with the current health bar.) You could have 3 degraded graphics that kick in at 75%, 50%, and 25% health, providing a nice visual cue as buildings get damaged, beyond the simple health bar, which can be easily cluttered as the building is swarmed by troops that are themselves being damaged by defenses.
Then, when the village owner signs on, the same graphic progression happens in reverse as the buildings "heal" due to user interaction 25%, 50%, 75% graphics, followed by the 100% graphic when the building is fully restored.
I think this could be done without seriously hampering the game's processor demands. I have seen it in other real time strategy games, such as Command and Conquer and I believe it is a very satisfying visual effect, akin to actually causing damage vs. popping a soap bubble.
Thoughts?
An all-building-hp-indicator-button will be very helpful..

Zombiebender is right about all the buildings having multiple views/graphics - it would almost guarantee the game would grow beyond Apple's imposed "Over the air" update size.
There are a lot of "Neat" ideas in the sub-forum that never make the sticky because well, honestly, as neat as they are, they don't really improve game play. I mean, will a different graphic make you deploy troops different? I don't really look at the health bar now, but maybe I play different.
It's the community's sticky for the most part, if the community thinks having a
100/75/50/25/0% graphic for the town hall would enhance gameplay, I will add it for the devs to see.
What do you all think?
Hi Twister, I reached this thread using advanced search for "Building hp indicator".
IMHO when player managed to get 49% with only few troops/dmg spells left, the info about remaining building hp helps.
Is it possible to have just a "show all building hp" button during battle, or something similar, instead of graphical changes which cause performace issues (perhaps) ,please?
