World Legion - Rebuilding a clan from a splinter group.

I'm Bob aka rms98119 at World Legion.
A long while ago I joined my third clan. Let's call it Main. I was TH6 and Main was a 16000 trophy clan. The members were good but everything was decided by one guy, Pops. After a week I noticed one of my buddies joined our feeder clan Main 2. Main 2 was run by Pops teenage son. He was Clan Leader. Well Cav and I moved over. He's a master recruiter. Every clan needs a soft touch person like Cav. He went onto global and invited folks. They'd come in and he'd ask them if they wanted troops. "Giants?" he'd ask. And then he'd hit them with lv6s. In two days we added 38 members. Most of them newbies.
But also a core group from the Main came over. And after we sorted out the crappy newbies we built a core in Main 2. It's was a good group of mature, nice farmers. But still Pops son was Leader. So we worked the back channel and had Leader moved to one of the core. And that worked nicely. He had a great touch with the elders, solicited opinions and made good decisions. But still that '2' was killing us. Nobody wanted to join a '2' We ended up falling to 29 folks.
I knew we needed to make some big changes. We knew that falling below 40 was kind of a death blow. Even though we donated a ton of troops and have several 100+ experience folks. So I asked for leader. Mostly because with all of the experience in our group being leader is a hot potato nobody wanted and our current leader got a contract which was keeping him away for quite a bit. But still we felt that we needed to change or break up.
So I said first we needed a new name. We couldn't be a feeder for another site and we couldn't have a '2' in our clan name. One of our sharp guys suggested we set up a glassboard.com account. We did and started working through names. But it was dragging. So one morning Judy, Cav and I were all in chat. I said we're choosing a name now. I listed all of our ideas including The Hayseeds, War of Famers, Wangdoubts and my personal favorite Bob's Ray of Death. And then we started brainstorming and Judy threw out World Legion. I said "Awesome." Cav agreed and we put it to the elders.
Then Cav went and set up the new clan. Over 3 days everyone moved and I stayed on until Pops' son took back leader. So now we had a name we loved and a new clan with about 13000 trophies. But what next. We were 29. Below the death sprial of 40. How do we get out?
Well when Cav set up the clan he made it so that Anyone can Join as long as they had 1100 trophies. Thankfully we started on a Monday. We also required lv5 troops. Then Cav hit global. We added a couple folks every day and the elders screened a kicked the low, the bad and the juvenile. By Wednesday night we were 33! That night we kicked out 15 noobs and the next morning two of our elders kicked out 12. I kicked 14 out and then set the requirements to 1600 trophies. And with that the noise ended. But with 16000 trophies and 35 folks we started getting good new members. And now we're back up to 40 in just a week.
And that's how we rebuilt our clan.
