Balancing Blog Series: March 2016 Update

Prior to adding 30 seconds, a huge portion of the war community was staying at TH9 because it was perfectly balanced. These people did complain about the added time - it completely ruined the competitive war scene at this town hall level. One thing it did do, however, is make the war scene at TH10 competitive. 3 stars were actually possible, although still very difficult.

What I actually find to be comical is that, after the 30 seconds was added, many TH9's upgraded to TH10 because it appeared that may be the new "sweet spot" for war. Now that we are reverting back to a 3 minute time limit, TH9 will once again be great for wars, and TH10 will be even more imbalanced than it was before.

It's all about perspective - this change is great for TH9's and below and horrible for TH10's & Th11's. Ideally they would only reduce the timer for TH9's and below.

I think he does have a point, just because they nerfed a troop based on the way we used it right now, it doesn't mean it becomes useless. It does become useless if we keep using the troops the way we have always planned them to do, I don't use witches too, but I kinda feel good about this; this may open new doors for the usage of the witch. I don't know, it's just an opinion.

I think it's a great idea!! TH9 war attacks have been completely broken since they introduced the extra 30s.

Before the update we saw fails ALL the time due to time running out. Since the extra 30s was added it's almost impossible NOT to get 3 on any th9.

I think it's great and will make wars that much more difficult going forward.

You're completely wrong mate, the entire th9 war community (so thousands of people) and presumably people below th9 as well were angry about the change. The removal of the 30 seconds is the first step towards making war as great as it can be.

3:30 is too long for th9....and under. It was too easy. I think OP is making it up by stating nobody wants battle time to be reduce. That said a th10 would need those extra 30 seconds.

In what way correct? It seems like very little he mentions in there relates to the changes announced by SC. No change to healers; none of the new troops he talks about. And almost nothing SC have announced is in his post

I feel like these nerfs will already happening. My Gowiwi has been massively failing for over a week. I thought something was odd because all of the sudden traps were wiping out my witches and wizards when prior I was having no issues with them. Pretty sure some of these nerfs were already implemented without announcement.

^this, omg this. I wish they could find a reason to make small bombs actually worthwhile, they're nearly 100% useless.

One size does not fit all in this case. Especially now it will take even longer to kill the cc.
