Resume attack after lost connection

I'm sure many people also experienced the pain of losing connection mid game like me. Nobody likes to lose connection during their attack, be it for war or just raids. Unfortunately, at the moment once you lose connection the battle will be over and there is nothing you can do even if you log back on just half a second later.

So I wonder if anyone else would like a feature that, when lost connection, allows you to continue your attack once you logged back on. Time will still elapse when you are disconnected, but instead of letting the game simulate the whole of the remainder of the battle, the game returns control back to the player when he logs back on.

This idea is inspired from the system used in Clash Royale, and it works great. I can see a similar feature in Clash of Clans will benefit players with unstable connection massively.

It's on you to have a decent connection when attacking, not SC. It would also be very easy to take advantage of this feature.

rambo you just trying to be that thorn in peoples side or what? ive lost connection before while still having full bars. and this has happened over wifi before to. its has something to do with the game and its servers.

This is an excellent idea! I have seen it posted a few times but never gains much ground with players for some reason. I for one would love to see it happen, there is nothing worse the releasing 2 golems then losing connection.

How could this be taken advantage of? What advantages could a player have for losing connection after releasing some troops and rejoining the battle?

We aren't asking for the battle to pause we are saying the timer keeps ticking, the defenses keep firing.

He does this in a lot of post here from what I've noticed from him he has no real advice or ideas of his own.


However I seem to lose connection over wifi more than I do when I'm on 4g.

I always turn my wifi off before entering my war attacks.

It is a pain and I guess it's probably happened to everyone at some point but unless it happens in the first few seconds of the battle I carnt see it being much use by the time you've lost connection relogged in gone through all the opening loading sequence got back on the war screen worked out where you are with things ,in truth what ever time you've now got left your not going to achieve much.

So he's a thorn in your side because he stated the facts? It has nothing to do with the game and everything to with your connection. It's not SC's problem to solve your internet connection.

"He has no real advice or ideas of his own?" Seriously? OP did not request advice, he requested a feature to solve his internet connection, which is his issue not SC's issue!

It has absolutely nothing to do with the game. The only time my connection becomes bad is when my wifi is bad.

AMEN to this idea. SuperCell has SEVERELY dropped the ball and screwed over many of its PAYING customers by not implementing such a simple feature after all of this time. How many players have had to experience the frustration of losing an attack they spent an hour strategizing or even worse, costing their clan a war all because of a 2-second WiFi hiccup causing their war attack to disconnect after dropping a single troop??! It happens to everyone at some point. If you are able to reconnect and get back onto the game a few seconds later, why can't you just continue your attack in progress? There is a 3-minute counter on every war attack. So, why does the counter have to immediately STOP when a player has an unfortunate momentary disconnect? Keep the clock ticking while the player is disconnected. If the player reconnects to the game, just load them directly back into their war attack and let them continue. Since the clock has continued while they were gone, there is NO chance of anyone using this dishonestly and the player/clan doesn't unfairly lose a precious attack.

Given how critical a single attack can be for a clan having a fair shot at winning a war match, this feature should be a no-brainer and should be a massive priority. No clan should ever have to lose a war because of a momentary WiFi disconnect. Keep in mind, if you get disconnected after dropping troops/spells, you have also just wasted a ton of elixir, further adding to the unfairness of the current configuration.


Please do something about this very obvious flaw, Supercell. There is absolutely no reason you for you not do to address this with all of the money you are making on this game.

Whether it's the users' problem or the games, I'm sure it's still a pain in the butt whenever it happens.

What I'm requesting is a feature to work around it. This will not completely solve the problem yes, and I'm not asking SC to "fix" the connection issue. But a feature like this will help to alleviate the consequence of unintentional disconnection.

If you never ever ever lost a connection in your COC experience, then great, lucky you. Such a feature will make no difference to you. But for people who do lose connection, no matter how frequently, it will certainly help to make it less of a problem. Because, well, even if you lose 60 seconds and all the troops you deployed so far are killed, you can still at least deploy the rest of your troops and hope for a 1 star, or attempt to grab some loot before the end.

After all, they have already put a such feature in place for Clash Royale, why couldn't we have the same for COC?

I agree with this feature. Whoever's fault it is, the fact of the matter is that it is annoying when this happens. I too switch to 4g for war attacks but this is also not ideal. Supercell have managed to implement this feature into clash royale so naturally they could do it here. Small but helpful feature with no drawbacks.

However, any kind of solution to this might allow ♥♥♥♥♥ers to use programs to reveal the traps, cc and teslas before battle, for example, or even to practice on villages.

A few updates ago, when you got disconnected before spawnning the first troop, it did not count as an attack, and lots of people would start the attack, go to plane mode on their phone, scoot the village and then relaunch the game to do the actual attack...

I am afraid this problem is bound to stay as it is...

No, the attack would not be recorded and wouldn't count. That's why we have the confirm attack screen now.
