lol. Seriously?! Lol. I need to try that.

I like it. Breaks up the game a bit, everyone complains, but I'm selling carrots, carrot juice, livestock feed and carrot cakes like crazy. My horses don't have to wait for their feed bags to be filled. It's brilliant.
I do not hate the carrot event it just seems pointless..
I had fun working extra hard to fill boats and help others for double vouchers, and the double coin trucks helped me save some much needed coin.
But carrots?
Double $ for stall produce would be fabulouse. I hope you are right!
I don't think the carrot event is the best thing ever - but the coolest things feel cooler when they can be compared to something.
I like to grow all/most of my crops on dedicated areas and during this event I have allocated a smaller area for carrot since they grow faster than usual. I use some of the former carrot area to grow sugar cane.
I agree the endless carrot ads in DD are a bit annoying. Maybe this kind of event should be shorter, like an hour for a few days? Like the Wheel of Fortune that only visits when I open the game and then leaves.
it's ok for the XP but I think it would be more fun if products that were made with the carrots were also producing in half the time so that the DD wouldn't be inundated with just carrots. An added plus would be if boat and truck orders were for carrot products. Would give everyone a boost in XP, plus be an incentive to produce the carrots and help others fill their orders..
Thanks!
Was surprised that carrots was the designated in season crop. Like many others, I would have preferred a crop with hours or days growing time halved instead. However with that said, I've taken advantage of the event. I've not sold a single carrot in my shop, but rather put the juicer production and feed mills into overtime and have been selling raw carrots to my walkers which had really made a dent in getting to my patron achievement III. Loved the first two events, but as another player observed, when handed lemons, try to find a way to make lemonade. Thanks for the fun!
I have to honestly say the carrot event is pretty lame...they only took 10 minutes to begin with....and extra 5 minutes off doesn't do anything.
If you are going to speed a crop item up...then do it for crop related items...like carrot juice, carrot cake, carrot pie as well for this event.
The only thing this event did was fill the newpaper with carrot ads.
The 2 events before this were good and would like more similar to those.
***How about an event where you have to try to make at least 1 of each item and then you get a bonus. The bonus could be coins, XP, and a special item even.
I started using full-price carrots for my dummy ad in the DD, but otherwise this event hasn't really changed how I play. I guess I've made/sold off some extra pig feed, but not a ton. And I'd rather keep my juice and pie machines working on things other than carrot juice or pie.
This works if you have a mastery concept like FarmVille. This game is production based. It would make far more sense to have an event that resulted in greater production of sugar or dairy products, or other production items.
It backfired, leaving the newspaper overrun with carrots and difficult to find items that players were needing or looking for.
Cross-posting part of my reply from another thread...

I think the hard part for Supercell would be coming up with an event that appealed equally to all players. The truck event accomplished that pretty well, I think. The boat event -- not so much. I loved it, but I have more than a few friends who are at higher levels than me but haven't repaired their docks. Maybe instead of half-time production for just one item there could be a half-time combo, say carrots and brown sugar or something like that.
At any rate, I'm not complaining so far. I think it's really interesting to see how the community dynamics shift with each event.
I like the idea of the events.... I even love it. Just wish it was something besides carrots! Hopefully the next event will make up for this one. :)
Susan -- if you click on a friend's profile in Game Center and scroll alllllllllllll the way down past their games, there should be a yellow "unfriend" button at the bottom left. Hope that helps!
Not much of an "event."
Yea carrot season is almost over!
Here! Here!
im curious though, has anyone sold carrots these few days and how fast/slow did they go? im thinking even if i were to sell 10x at one coin nobody would bother buying. still i made a whole lot of them just for the xps and i sold them all to the visitors. it was so much quicker that way and they usually ask for 100-300 at once at about 4 coins each.
Hallelujah!!
I didn't grow one single carrot and proud of it :)
Please, no more crop growing events, not even for potatoes...it was completely pointless and we saw what it did to the ads.
Counting down the hours until this event is in the books and forever locked away in SC's vault!
I didn't grow more carrot than usual because I don't need to. I played as if there is no event at all.
The Daily Dirt was, is and will be always flooded with something. Most player need sometimes for the adjustment and they will come up with a dummy ads because of how the Daily Dirt works.
The carrot event wwould of been a whole lot better if there was some sort of reward possible such as diamonds or those pieces of fabric (green, gold, purple, or whatnever the other color is) at least there would be a reason to actually plant carrots.
Thanks again for all the feedback about the Carrot Season event. As far as crop-related events go, we're going back to the drawing board and will start with considering your ideas.
Later this week look for a new non-crop event that may help pad your farm's pocketbook!

Oh wow! I really like the sound of that. :) I could use some coins for equipment and decorations. I don't think I'm alone in saying that most of us LOVED the trucking event and boating season. They were lots of fun and challenging! I could really go for another one of either event. You don't have to do something new every time. Rotate those events periodically, and I think many of us will be happy. Anyone with me?
I appreciate all the events. I love the event board. Obviously some events will be more fun, challenging and rewarding than others but I love them all. And didn't anybody notice the increase in requests for carrots!? About 50% of my neighbors were asking for carrots. Also had two boats ask for carrots. This allowed me to make more carrots and get more money and extra points. This wasn't a coincidence. It was designed to give players a little opportunity to make a little extra. I never put a single carrot in my roadside stand. I don't understand why people flooded the newspaper with carrots. If you can make them in half the time so can I so why would i buy yours!! it was not intended for you to flood the market with carrots. Play a little smarter, people.
Events for more hard to get and time consuming products would make more sense. Fast growing carrots arent really exciting.
It's going to be a balancing act with creating events. I notice that most of the players who post here are at least level 35 and up thus easier for them to do events like the boat or "harder to get items" (jewelry?). The truck one lower level players could do but it was still uneven because the coin reward is a lot lower. I kind of think this is why they did do the carrot event...they want everyone to be happy at one point or another, not up just the long time players who are able to do the "more challenging" ones.
I do like the crop ones, it was actually a nice break and not so frenetic to get done RIGHT NOW so I can get more done and gain more vouchers or whatever.
To SC. Thank you for your hard work and being unflappable with all the complaints and sometimes anger thrown your way.
You are lucky. I envy you. I did not have boat orders for carrot for once during this event, neither at my neighbors.
Maybe some people are smart and know that no one will buy their carrot so they use carrot as dummy ads. However, I came across a shop only sell carrot... hmm.. that would be long waiting for Greg to buy all those stock.
