Well, when they did the boat event players below level 17 didn't have any benefit of that either (or those who still hadn't been able to afford fixing it). I was one of them - though I've chosen not to fix the dock on purpose... But my point is, that sometimes you simply have to accept that you can't benefit from an event, but another one is just round the corner so it really doesn't matter much.Quote:

We are using the carrot event to aggressively work on our cake and juice maker masteries, and our Egghead achievement. Carrot cakes and carrot juices are FLYING out of our shop, so we are making coin too. :) Therefore, we are not going to complain about the carrot event. Bring on the next one :)
We enjoy the challenge to taking what many think is a lemon and making lemonade :)

I'm not so sure about this event, I can't see the benefits from speeding carrots up, the DD and road side stalls are over run with them :p
A couple of people have mentioned that it would have been better coupled with something else, like half time or double money on carrot products......I just don't see what we are gaining from this one :(
However its only one event, lets see what the next one is like...

We were asked for our opinion so we shouldn't be chastised for speaking honestly. I really have enjoyed the events board but this one was half-hearted and lackluster. If the team ran out of ideas I have a few...
Like others have mentioned, pairing the crop with a finished product would be great. Half-time sugarcane and half-time sugar. Double filets on fishing. Half-time jam/cakes/pie/juice/dairy/popcorn. Half-time smelter/jewelry. Mystery box extravaganza where we get double items. Double coin for selling to walk-up people. Pet adoption sale. Lawn ornament sale. Anything that will yield a greater number of LE/SE/BE items (please!). These are things that we would benefit from and would keep the game exciting. And yes, a repeat of the boat voucher event would be awesome! I totally understand that it's hard work to change code and even harder to please customers. Asking for our opinion is appreciated and it would go a long way to listen and implement what the players request, not just on this thread but overall.
edit: You could also do a rare color voucher day, trade coins for vouchers for a limited time ( great for those of us who have a plethora of coins and nothing to spend it on), give gold vouchers for gold bars one day, give everyone a bit of extra storage (25 item increase event), give vouchers for gift cards exchange for a week, half-time birthday cake to celebrate SC, a trade day in which we could sell ornaments in the stall, "bumper crop" where our trees produced double the amount, shorten time to build lures and/or refish an area. These are all suggestions which would enhance the game play, create an influx of fresh items into the DD, and address some of the issues many people complain about in different thread while still using the event board to keep the game interesting. Like I've mentioned before, the concept is really great and the first two events were fun. If SC is interested in maintaining an exciting game these are just a few suggestions that incorporate both the event board and a way to alleviate the more frustrating aspects of the game.
While the carrot event is really a non-event for me, the first two were great. I think they're purposely mixing in a not-so-good event so we don't get too spoiled with the great events. I'm sure sometime soon we'll have more good events. This event does serve the purpose of mixing up the items available in the newspaper. It's interesting to see the dynamics at play there - all of a sudden there are lots of carrots, but my strategy is to figure out what things that were so over-available before are now rare, and make them.
