I'm not Chinese and I think it's great supercell is willing to expand in variety of deco to meet a wide range of tastes. Kudos supercell on what I think is one of the best updates since I started playing.

Cami, I've never purchased these items because you need more than just one to create the look you would want, so I have no first-hand knowledge of the price increasing (wanted to hoard my diamonds for hiring Tom). I could swear (I know, I know...shouldn't swear :p) I read in the forums that those who had decorated with them saw the price increase with each subsequent purchase, and it was when the "Cemetery Fence" was first introduced, which was originally 2 diamonds, I thought, but was increased to 5 diamonds last Halloween for the initial purchase. So, essentially, this is something that I'm pretty sure I heard a few years ago.
Well, I just tried to search for posts about the cost of the fencing increasing with each purchase, and I came up pretty empty. That's not to say these posts aren't out there, just that I didn't find them (or maybe didn't find them because I remembered wrong :p).
So, sorry if I provided incorrect information. I was pretty darn sure I was right, or I wouldn't have said anything. *shlumps back into her corner*
So, only coin decos increase as you go. This is to 'keep there from being too much money in the game.'
I would much prefer that many, many more different decos were available! Make more cute items, charge a hefty coin price, don't increase the cost as they are sold, but just have many, many more choices! I would spend one million coins this afternoon on new coin decos. I will not get conned into paying more more more more for the same one. (at least, I won't again)
I suppose it depends on if you think the deco as a whole is worth the coins. Whether that be one gold statue at a million coins or a long gold path costing a million. Personally I'm not too fussed as its a virtual currency. It didn't cost me anything other than my time. I just produce a few more products to sell when I get the urge to purchase more sparkly path.
Thank you Cami for sharing the fascinating insight into game design and the removal of currency from the game economy.
I see dynamic pricing is being applied because the prices of buildings increase as we advance in HD.
I'm a level 103 farmer. Let us assume that I have accumulated about 5 million coins. Where would you place me in the Bell Curve of high level farmers? In the far left? Middle? Far right?
If you introduce a new machine accessible to farmers of all levels, have you considered applying dynamic pricing in the following scenario?
Level 20 farmers and below would pay 20,000 coins for it;
Level 21-40 farmers would pay 40,000;
Level 41-60 would pay 100,000;
Level 61-99 would pay 500,000;
Level 100 and above would pay 1 million coins.
Different strokes for different folks. I bought about 7 rope fences at the reasonable average price of 2000 coins. If each were priced the hefty price of 10,000 coins each, I would've rolled my eyes and not bought them.
Increasing the cost of the same item isn't an issue for me because the increase is very marginal. :)
I just always decorated as I could within my budget and held off buying the more expensive stuff until I had more coins to spend. You'll get there. Just keep making and selling stuff. :) One day you will be Hay Day rich and you will be able to go on a spending spree in the decos tab. ;)
Yes, this is excellent advice!
I started out just decorating with fruit trees and bushes. It's served me very well, as I have a lovely flowering/ colorful fruiting natural landscape that I love very much. I never run out of fruit, either!:thumbsup::caticon:
