Clash of Clans API for clan leaders/managers

@everyone requesting this:

We now have the official endpoint for fetching the clan details. Would be cool if there was a player details endpoint as well.

Clans endpoint

• https://set7z18fgf.execute-api.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/prod/?route=getClanDetails&clanTag=%23<CLANTAG>

replace the <CLANTAG> with whatever your clantag is (excluding the hash sign).

The data is not 100% live, apparently there's some caching in place, but from what I've tested the data is updated within minutes (dropped trophies on purpose just to test how long it'll take to update data).

Anyone who understands API, should understand it is not just opening or making an API.
Are you going to build the new infrastructure for the API calls? These could be hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands of calls per SECOND to a server. Do they need to sandbox a separate band of servers so the main servers will not come down with the API calls. can you imagine a ton of (HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND) of Google-Ad based websites doing API calls to Supercell?

MILLIONS of requests. Its like a DDOS attack.

If I were them, I would not do it.

I think Supercell is going to be releasing an API for this upcoming update. As their website is already doing so. We will finally have an OFFICIAL API that we can use. But for now we can only hope that they are going to make an API.

Keep in mind I said 'think', I didn't say THEY ARE working on it.

How do other sites do this? Specifically, dub-dub-dub-dot warclans dot-com. That site also has ability to capture screenshots of bases. I'm trying to find out how to interface to COC via a Web API or a CLI...!

There are at least one I know of that is basically an UNOFFICIAL/3rd Party API. I don't think I'm allowed to mention it so I won't but if you go to the warclans website forum you'll see there is a thread talking about that API and how you can pull information through there.

So what? Millions of requests aren't anything like a DDOS attack if the API is done properly.

Obviously you haven't had any experience with scaling HTTP APIs'.

So has anyone else used the official endpoint yet? I'm gonna make a documentation soon and post it at the General's sub forum to help out people that needs help using it.

Yes, but why do they have to scale and add servers for these requests? And how will they manage the requests once they open an API for it? Its not in their interest to open an API for this.

Right now, I am opening the ClashofClans.com clan showing in an Iframe and cleaning up the top for our website. Everyone should do the same.

I think you'll be happy to know that I am working on this!
I am NOT in supercell; I'm just a random dude on the internet.

This java API allows you to fetch troop and building data: I may add clan info in the future.

An example would be:

Wizard w = new Wizard();
w.setLevel(3); //A level 3 wizard
w.getHealth();//108
w.getDPS();//90
w.getAttack();//135
w.isRanged();//true

I am not really sure if this is what you guys wanted... if it isn't, please tell me so!

I estimate this API will be released sometime around summer.
