You basically can use the same army you usually do, with the exception of maybe a few more WB's and Gobs for tunneling through a base. It's the Trophy count that has to change.
Well im currently in between 1400-1500 trophies and i see th9s with 1,400 de i really want it but know i cant get to it because of there lvl 8 and lvl 9 walls
If you have a max army space of 160 you should get that up to at least 180 before hunting dark elixir.
Getting Dark Elixir storage's generally requires focused, concentrated attacks. More troops the better chance of success.

Go up in trophies. Big DE loots 1700+.
Ok but that will be a challenge because the highest i ever went up to was 1600 trophies so gold 2
Right now im at 1450 trophies well a trophy pish i could probably get up to 1700

why do u only have level 4 army camps? u should have at least level 5 by TH7! probably even level 6! upgrade as soon as possible ur army camps to lvl 6. and forget about DE until you max out gold and elixir for TH7. you have the barb king, so that's enough for now. once, you max out gold and elixir, then focus on DE. and for that army, just use 10 drags and 3 lightning :D
Too early for DE push. You should get your army camp space to 200 first.
You can only take 5% of DE from a storage so there isn't much DE available in TH7 bases.
So your army has to be able to crack TH8+ with off-center DE storages.
3 L4 lightning only gets 38-42% of a storage, so that is a last resort if your army can't get anywhere near the DE.
You will also expend alot of gold and elixir so you need to stockpile first before every run.
Try Unity Sharp's guide in general and if that doesn't float your boat all dragons is fun and effective.
