How about some kind of water monster or a spell you drop on the water and a bunch of little water monsters form (kinda like the witch)
The water is there so let's use it.
Maybe a boat that keeps the new eagle artillery busy for awile.
A spell that you drop in the water and makes it rain bullets that weakens majority of defensive buildings.
Seriously there is endless ideals that can come about so why not use the water?
