Linking more than once

I'm new to the forums, and I made this account for one reason only. To post this thread you are reading. I have an iPad mini, used to have a Samsung S4, now have a nexus 4. I linked my account from my iPad, to my Samsung 4, then sold it. I want to link my account from my iPad to my nexus, but it won't let me because you are only allowed to link to another device (Android to Apple, or Apple to android) only once. I made this thread because I can't think of a reason this is in the game. It has no purpose and I would not like this in the game anymore. Tell me what you think in the comments.
