Other than spells and dark troops, these are the last things I have to upgrade at th8. Never use either of them really, but would like to start using both more once they get better. Any recommendations on which to do first?

I would say pekka. They seem to be more used a lot more than balloons at higher levels.

Yes Pekka level is best to level 5 and easy to complete .
