Has Supercell lost interest in Hay Day??

It's been a long time since we had an update. No new machines or products in the last few updates. No new town additions or options in a couple of years! All of the prizes like the windmill, the carriage and the big wheel bike have all been dumped in the store for purchase so I guess you can't win them anymore so the thrill of that hunt has been taken away. Same old mundane prizes and tasks in the derby. Never anything new to look forward to. Moderators don't seem to be as interactive any more, no teases, no sneak peaks, few responses. And we are moving toward March and we can't get them to take the Christmas decorations off of our house and animals (remember, the winter theme came first and then the Christmas decorations and stupid animal costumes came later so I don't want to hear that it's a winter theme and it has to all stay until spring. Take the darn Christmas stuff away!!!!).

It feels like Supercell has lost interest in updating and maintaining this game. It feels like the bare minimum is being done to keep it going and that's it. I can definitely tell fewer people are playing the game and interacting and posting on the forum. And many of my farm friends and long time players no longer play. Maybe Supercell has moved on to developing a new game. I have never played an interactive game for this long before so I don't know how it dies when the players start to move away and the developer loses interest. But for those of us who still enjoy it, it's very sad indeed.

Well said Songwood couldn't agree more....

Supercell a major uplift is required please otherwise more of us will leave. Open up more land, give us new crops, machines and animals keep our interest going, all I here in our hood and often in his forum are negative comments.

I was just talking to my neighbor about this very thing. It feels like hay day is dying, and it makes me very sad.

I totally agree. I posted about 3 weeks ago about the lack of anything happening and here we are heading towards March and we still have animals in christmas outfits! Snow might be the winter theme but animals in christmas hats is just getting stupid. In the last year all we have seen is the introduction of the derby. That was a bit fun to begin with but recently it's become a right bore. Naff prizes for placing in top three and to be honest I suspect that something fishy is going on as some teams seem to have points that would indicate all members doing 320 tasks and 10 of them! There have been no new machines for a year now ... A year!!!!! No new products and the events are just the same recycled events week after week. The Christmas event and Valentines event were truck tasks.... How original!
The daily dirt is more like daily.... Well I can't say how I really feel on that one suffice to say that its full of the same naff stuff. Wheat, corn, indigo, eggs, tofu dogs and them red hats. Full of bot farms again (maybe thats why SC are so busy). Still as obvious as ever but this time selling corn at 1 coin and the wheat has now shot up to 2 coins.... Thats inflation I guess! At level 102 I feel gutted that I've wasted so much time on a game that they have obviously lost interest in

BTW, Supercell is launching a new game globally next month. Clash Royale has been in development by another team for years and it isn't a replacement for HD.

It isn't true that Supercell pulled people off the HD team to work on Clash Royale. It doesn't work that way.

Supercell's website provides its history including a list of games which were launched and killed. Only 3 are still on the global market.

They said there will be one in Q1, there is still over a month to go of Q1.

On top of that, they have said it hasn't gone smoothly. We don't want something released earlier than it's ready, just to keep people happy, because it will be a nightmare. There are enough teething problems with releases that are believed to be ready!

I have asked if we could have the farms returned to 'season neutral' until the update is ready, but haven't heard anything from SC. Lots of people want winter gone already. I don't mind too much that it's 'winter' but the snow really affects my eyes.

Hay Day is still making SC a lot of money, someone quoted the figures/placement the other day, but it was something like 3rd highest grossing game in X category. Sorry, that's not particularly helpful, except to indicate that I don't think it's dying at all, nor do SC want it to.

People were complaining about the BRT, gramophone, penny farthing era of prizes still being there, so they changed them to the flowers, ferns & musical instruments (the decking was supposed to be there too, but there's a glitch). They can't please everyone & at least people can still buy them if they want them.

DD. It is what it is, or rather, it is what we make it. We choose what to sell, not SC. Clearing out the BOTS made very little difference. That's not to say they don't need to go, but it's not the answer to the DD being more interesting. I just treat the ads like front doors, you don't know what you'll find inside a house until you go in the door.

Events - yes, something needs to be done before we all die of boredom. SC said the 'contribution' tasks were too difficult to set a realistic goal for. My comment on that is 'try harder'. We need new events. If no one at SC can think of any, there are plenty in the ideas section or they could start a thread/section on it. But for crying out loud, something needs doing about them! (Maybe it's part of the planned update?!)

Couldn't they add a feature on the daily dirt to ensure that only a human is posting? Like when you have to type something into a website for tickets to confirm you are not a robot. The daily dirt is the weak link feeding the bot farms .... Cut it off and they have no way to sell the huge amount of wheat (and of late corn) they produce. I have noticed the one singular thing with them still consists of a house that doesn't fit the level. They now have pictures, names and a whole neighbourhood in many cases and they are selling corn and other items rather than just 1 coin wheat.
I appreciate that while the truck double xp is on the paper is going to be full of crops.

Addressing the bolded portion: do you want this game to die? A captcha every time you place an ad would drive away thousands of people who play the game. Plus, people could still type the captcha for the bot. It would be slower, but still works. Simply banning bots is much simpler, if only they'd release that report button Nick said they were talking about a year ago...

Hey so my post did get in this thread? I just came back to see what was new and I don't see my post anywhere! Am I blind?!

And holy moly I agree about the bot farms. Every page I look at in my paper has at least 2 or 3 of them. I've been consistently reporting them to support, but I really don't know how much good that does.

And as you said, SmallChange, there's still over a month to go for Q1. I just hope that all the delays won't have to take us into Q2!! I'm worried, too, that since during the AMA SC stated that there will be nothing new in 2016, then what could the update bring? It certainly can't be anything new, then, can it????

One more thing: I've been keeping another list of questions that Still come up in my head even at level 80. Be ready for all those who just "love" my looooong posts!!! :o

Bring it on! I enjoy reading long forum posts as long as they are presented in short paragraphs separated by white spaces. A paragraph with about 10 lines of text will look like an imposing wall and will be a chore to read, IMHO.

Only Faulkner can get away with writing a sentence that takes up a whole page. :)

I consider myself a pretty loyal Hayday player. That being said, I am finding myself in the App Store shopping around for another game with increasing frequency. I am very disappointed that sc is ignoring loyal long term players. The snow etc should have been gone by now. I have opted out of the derby for the coming week and may just stay opted out. Our nh consists (consisted) of very loyal long term players of which several have now stopped playing all together until there is any indication that sc remembers us.

Indeed, playing less by high level farmers seems the most effective way to let Supercell know about our winter and now spring of discontent. Supercell no longer has a monopoly on my gaming time because I'm playing a resource management game advertised in HD's movie trailers and another farming game advertised in a TV commercial.

What I see so far is a specific answer relating to new fishing spots, new crops and new animals. I don't take that as "nothing new". Phew! :)

I see some answers in there about new machines in 2016 (no months mentioned), and " something you've been requesting for a long time (but not a tool shed)" and a meaningful update due at unknown time but "probably" in the first quarter and specifically "not in January, January is too early to expect anything" (I note that last part because a couple of posts from players on this forum said the AMA session had promised an update in January. Apparently a mistake/misremember).

I see some noncommittal stuff mainly, but really I don't see them saying they are doing nothing new.

(But if they end up not doing anything, I'll be very disappointed.) :thumbsdown:

Once they're done ruining Clash of Clans I'm sure they'll start to turn Hay Day into a pay2win

Thanks pitchfork! That's a much more optimistic view and gives me a little bit of new hope! A new machine perhaps? Which means more barn storage room for more product(s)--argh! And "something you've been requesting for a long time....". Hmm. Mostly all the things requested in the Ideas forum have been ruled out. What else does anyone suppose there is? Anyone????? And I sure hope their "probably" turns into a "for sure"!!!

Maybe the something requested will be a dedicated slot in RSS for nh members only. Or a clothesline for the gnomes to go with the washtub. Ok. The clothesline is my personal most requested. Lol. Pretty sure that's not it.

Oh Besta I sure hope an RSS slot wouldn't be all that's planned for!! I would definitely need more tissues to cry in if that were the case!!

That is interesting Robin. I googled a bit on the background of the company. The fact that they don't have the same coders and they truly have no interest whatsoever in what their players want is sad. I started playing within the first 6 months of release. The changes have been mostly positive but then they are taken too far, forced in some cases on nh players. The derby is a perfect example. I find myself not even wanting to look at the derby board. But anyway. I hope sc introduces something good for all players in the update, when and if that ever comes.

Things that are "ruled out" are only ever ruled out until they're not.

The last lot of farmland expansion, for example: expansion was on the ruled-out list the day before the update, and the day of the update, and the day after the update (by which time, of course, it is valid again) (until it's not). :D

Clash Royale looks very nice but I am not interested in fighting games.
I love Hay Day because unfortunately there are not many good games on the market which are not battle related.
Hope next time someone can make another game similar to Hay Day.

Maybe I'm being a bit pessimistic but could the "something you've all asked for for a while" simply be the change in season? I hope not! Oh supercell, Nick, Camicami, anyone please just answer the questions honestly and openly without the air of being a politician and not actually answering us. Unfortunately with no one giving answers rumour takes over and causes people to give up, leave, get annoyed etc etc.

To put an end to false rumors:

- Hay Day's team is same in size as it was 2 or even 3 years ago. No changes, except some members have moved to other projects, and new guys have joined. That's completely normal.
- The current team is super dedicated in shipping awesome updates, including the one we are currently working on.
- There's no official release date for the next update, but we are getting close! That's why there hasn't been any sneak peeks yet either. They will appear when the time is right!
- We listen to our players on all channels (forums, facebook, twitter etc.) and take notes of good and feasible ideas. Not all ideas fit the game, or are technically possible. This is something we have done from day 1 and no plans to stop doing it.
- We try to be as active as possible on all channels, but the share amount of posts, comments, tweets etc. makes it difficult to reply to all of them all. We try our best and will try to improve!
- Last year the winter theme was turned off via an optional update (February 3rd) and the next full update was out on March 12th. This year the team has been simply too busy with the bigger update so we decided not to release an optional update (any kind of updates require a lot of work, both coding and QA especially). I know that the winter theme may feel "off" for many players, but keep in mind that in many countries February is actually seen as a winter-month.

But rest assured - Hay Day is still getting loads of love from Supercell, just as it has got for (soon) 4 years.

Unfortunately we can't share our roadmap since it changes all the time. We keep on adding stuff to the roadmap if we spot some cool new ideas from our community, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to lock it down. We have a very rough roadmap based on learnings, player feedback etc. but we keep on adding more stuff when it fits/makes sense.

1. Is the coding part of the upcoming update still remaining? I guess you must be testing the update and sending it to app stores for verification or something like that, not sure how exactly it works. How long does the verification from stores take?

2. Are you including the birthday special event with this update? Also, can events be added with maintenance breaks?

3. You promised an AMA prior to the update, when is it? Feb end or early march? I know we have the forums but an AMA, as it's name suggests, Ask Me Anything, is a place where any question could be answered, related to upcoming updates too, so that's more like something I look forward to. Please be specific

There's still art, coding, design, texts etc. going on. :) When the QA starts, nothing new can be added, only bug fixes. When QA gives thumbs-up to the update, it gets sent to the stores for approval. Then we need to wait for it to be approved. How long it takes is something I can't say since it varies.

You'll have to wait and see about the event! :D I don't usually comment on these things since plans may change down the road and then players could be bummed out. New events can not be added via maintenance breaks. They require code changes which require a proper new version of the game. We can do some minor tweaks to them via maintenances, but not add a full new one.

Yes we wanted to organize an AMA for the next update, but had to cancel it since too many team members are for example travelling around the update and it just isn't doable. However, we will arrange more AMA's this year but we haven't decided when.

If there are more people available at SC office, they could participate too. I am sure you'll have time after you submit the update for verification to the stores, you could conduct one at that time.

Item dump events? It was impossible to find realistic goals for those events, so we decided to stop running them. Maybe some day we return to it and see if there's something we can do to make it work, but I wouldn't hold my breath..

Sounds a bit tedious.. but another reason is that these forums can not take such a huge load as Reddit can :) If we invite players to ask us questions here, the forums would go down. :D I can't remember how many visitors we had in our previous AMA, but the number was so big that I know our forums would snap.

Hmmm, so use reddit, with less number of supercell staff, I am sure you could still answer a lot of question!

Edit: I don't think forums would go down if you give it 2-3 days to post questions. Don't post to fb or twitter on day one so forumers and a few others would only register on day one, less population at a time

Oh btw Tim when at boom beach had done one such forum Q & A.

But it was like a forumer was told to grab top 10 question from a thread started for the purpose. 2 days later, tim replied to those top 10 questions. Forum was in a good condition, no break-downs.

But I don't prefer that, 10 questions is just nothing when we talk about the update, and questions would only arise after we know what's in the update.

Facebook AMA... never heard.

I still believe Reddit AMA is best with 3 people instead of 5. Go chat with the team, come up with something, and let us know :)

Facebook has done AMA-type of events but I have never attended to one. Need to look into it how it works! :)

Reddit is the best choice for any kind of AMA, but 3 people will not cut it. :D It was a struggle with 5 already. But as I said, we will arrange AMA's, but just not for the next update!

You could let the AMA last longer time, no need to do it in one sitting like 3 hours continously the last time.

I know if it's not possible, no it is. But another request, when you release sneak peeks, put more details in it like if it's a new machine, list it's products, indrigients and times. If it's a new pet, include cost and unlock level. If it's a new feature, say how it works.

And answer all questions in the sneak peek thread

I knew there was an update for turning the snow off before this last year!!

For future reference I really dislike the snow, it hurts my eyes and actually makes me feel queasy as it falls and I move around farm! If there's any chance the snow could be optional next year i would be very grateful indeed!

We keep on adding stuff to the roadmap if we spot some cool new ideas from our community, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to lock it down. We have a very rough roadmap based on learnings, player feedback etc. but we keep on adding more stuff when it fits/makes sense.

Okay.... so is it wrong to expect this to be some mega awesome super update when it finally shows up? I ask because if the same number of folks are working on the game that worked on it 2 and 3 years ago and the Christmas stuff went away sooner those years but can't this year because they are all to busy... it's gonna be awesome right? It will consist of more than derby related stuff, diamond eating deco and another pet like we already have just in a new color? It will be so chock full of exciting new things we won't believe our eyes?

Not sure why it's so hard to turn off "winter" theme. It's just reverting back to the original theme. They are not adding any major content, just bringing back the settings prior to the seasonal change. All the app games I'm playing already got rid of their Xmas theme (yea, they call it Xmas, not winter :smirk:) back in early January. If other games can do it, why
can't SC?? :saywhat::confused:

What level are you at?
Is your farm decorated to the nines with gold walls and not a dead tree or bush in sight? Or are you more of the minimalist I only set out the machines and plant enough trees to get by and have a corner full of dead ones type?
Do you have all the pets, have ya caught all the fish?
What machines do you have left to master?
What is left on your achievement list in the farm house?
Do you browse the DD? Are you careful not to buy from any bot farms there and do you report them when you see them?

Anybody else got any questions for what kind of player Nick is? :caticon:

Joking aside... there are frustrated players who feel the quality of the game is not what it once was. Nick is the face of the brand to anyone who comes to the forums seeking information about the game. Nobody will ever be happy all the time no matter what he says, but it's his job to listen and respond to concerns. I do hope he passes along to "the team" there are people here... a good number of them... who have played this game 2 years, 3 years, even longer and are still passionate about it. That is a rare thing for any game to be able to boast about. The fact that this game is still one of the top grossing games in the appstore speaks volumes, but it used to be even higher on that list and it can be again if the quality returns.

Now hear me out but I think most people will agree with me on this. The newspaper is filled with bot farms and a wave of bot bans need to be addressed... popular games struggle with to maintain bots and in a last ditch effort it ends up getting ignored.

By ignoring the bots they will end up being more advanced and more they develop they will be more human like than ever. I know it can be done it may be hard but I know Supercell has the power to do this and can successfully defeat them, even though bots will continuously come and go. We should be able to not see just wheat or corn in the Daily Dirt while some may be in their neighborhoods or playing solo it shouldn't be optional to not have goodies not lurking for days and maybe once in a while to see them pass by.


The forum may have a small quantity of players but we as the players should demand action for this to be resolved because it does hurt the experience of the gameplay even if its a small chunk of it. Quality speaks for itself when people aren't satisfied and as a top grossing game in the app store and the man power Supercell has... we need it!!


But you know whether it's regular updates or server maintenance we all come together to help somebody with advice or a topic such as THIS. Farmers need a voice to fix whatever needs fixing and here we are asking for it!!

Qancoe, I strongly agree. It's getting out of hand. Two pages of the DD just now were covered with wheat-selling bots (that's 12) with smattering of bots on the other pages (maybe an additional 5 or 6). All in a single issue. And this is not uncommon. :(

During the NFL games recently, I noticed ads for both Clash of Clans and Boom Beach but nothing about Hay Day. Ads during the Playoff games & on Super Bowl weekend are at a premium price but never saw HD mentioned. I do feel this game is not getting the attention the other 2 have had.

I have been playing over 3 years and really miss the new stuff contained in the earlier updates. We do need fresh eyes and ideas but lately I see same animals only redone slightly, a machine that fit the farm image & worked fine get redesigned (why spend time on that?), and excellent farm related ideas get ignored. My own suggestion of a scarecrow has been asked for repeatedly since I first started reading the forums. This is certainly more farm related than many of the ideas implemented over the past year.

There have been lots of great ideas for new products that could be made with our current machines & supplies that would fit with the farm theme. I don't ever remember a complaint about the soup machine or remember players asking repeatedly for hats.

Hay Day continues to be my favorite and I am a daily player but have also started playing a few other games now because I do not have much to do anymore. Once all production slots are open on machines, they can run for hours without me.

I love the Derby but hate waiting for 320 tasks & need to play at that level to place for extra prizes. There are also a lot of tasks that could be added to the Derby to give a better variety & be of more interest. If you want that to continue to be of interest we need more high tasks so half the large neighborhood will not have to sit out every week. There are lots of crops to grow & lots of items to produce to add some variety. At one time last Derby, out of 100 tasks, the only 320 we got were boats! 7 boats!

Hay Day is still a great game but you will continue to lose long term players without new additions. A change in seasons, animal clothing & a few decorations to be bought with diamonds will not keep the interest alive for the long term. The town was a fresh new idea but has been basically ignored since it was put out. How about some focus there!

I would like to see this game continue to evolve & grow to keep good players coming back. In the last year I have had 6 long time friends that have played with me since the start go on to other games because they say they have lost interest. However several of those players have gone to other farming games!

Please take a look at the ideas & requests again & see what you can do to revive the game for long time players.

Nick! I have reason to believe there's a mole in the Fan Club - someone has been intercepting our messages and I fear the mobsters are on to our plan. Revert to Plan B immediately! I will stuff the scarecrow into the front seat beside me and continue in the getaway car as decoy. You return to the farmhouse where Alfred will be waiting with a package. Tap to open it. Quickly remove the flowers from the tuba and dress yourself in the disguise we've hidden inside it (false beard, sou'wester, waders and a pipe). Then stroll nonchalantly to the riverbank where you will find a small rowboat waiting for you. The fan club secretary will be hiding behind the coffee bushes with your oars. Hoot three times to locate her. I can't say any more right now, there's a pink moped trying to run me off the road. I may be in grave danger. There's a confused tower of donkeys in the silo.

We do need fresh eyes and ideas but lately I see same animals only redone slightly, a machine that fit the farm image & worked fine get redesigned (why spend time on that?), and excellent farm related ideas get ignored. Hay Day continues to be my favorite and I am a daily player but have also started playing a few other games now because I do not have much to do anymore. Once all production slots are open on machines, they can run for hours without me.

I love the Derby but hate waiting for 320 tasks & need to play at that level to place for extra prizes. There are also a lot of tasks that could be added to the Derby to give a better variety & be of more interest. If you want that to continue to be of interest we need more high tasks so half the large neighborhood will not have to sit out every week. There are lots of crops to grow & lots of items to produce to add some variety. At one time last Derby, out of 100 tasks, the only 320 we got were boats! 7 boats!

Hay Day is still a great game but you will continue to lose long term players without new additions. A change in seasons, animal clothing & a few decorations to be bought with diamonds will not keep the interest alive for the long term. The town was a fresh new idea but has been basically ignored since it was put out. How about some focus there!

I would like to see this game continue to evolve & grow to keep good players coming back. In the last year I have had 6 long time friends that have played with me since the start go on to other games because they say they have lost interest. However several of those players have gone to other farming games!

Please take a look at the ideas & requests again & see what you can do to revive the game for long time players.

Well said. My soup kitchen was just fine. Something to look forward to would be wonderful. Last machine I ever had to "wait" for was the candy maker. Longer than 2 years ago now. I have also lost friends to other games that I have played hayday with since the beginning. I also noticed not one mention of hayday on the commercials sc put out. Just coc and boom beach. I guess a farming game isn't as exciting as blowing stuff up.

The coders rarely hang around channels reading player comments, since that's not their job. That job is mine and our support reps. We then create reports to the team what players are talking about, wishes, ideas etc. If coders would be reading comments/ideas they wouldn't get their code done.

Turning it off just takes time. All assets need to be reverted, code changes, then full QA and submitting it to the stores. And as I said earlier, we wanted to let the team focus 100% on the update this year.

My current farm is only 49, but my internal build farm(s) are way higher :)
I am a minimalist in the game, same as in my own apartment. I like to keep it simple.
I think I have all pets for level 49 yes.
Haven't caught all the fish, nope. It's hard! :D
Too many to be listed (which machines to be mastered)
There's a bunch of achievements I haven't finished, Land Owner III, Co-op III, Boat Score Hunter III etc. Mainly only the III's are missing here and there.
I do browse the DD every day, and if I spot something that looks fishy, I also report it.

To fight bots and such is something we are working on continuously! We will not give in, but we need to keep our work under wraps for obvious reasons. It's unfortunate that I can't comment more on this subject.

Thanks for your feedback! :) About the scarecrow - we once had a plan to bring it in, but then scrapped the idea since some players could confuse it with the tutorial scarecrow. That would kind of suck. But, never say never. Maybe as a high-level decoration someday? :P

You will have to wait and see. :) No sneak peeks yet. We don't have top-lists of feature requests really. We collect ideas, keep an eye open on the overall "demand" of certain features and then design it, test it and "if i fits i sits". If not, then we look into other things we could do.

I can't find any mention of our coders hanging around reading comments.. can you please show me a quote saying that our coders (note: developers = the whole team) have been reading comments and picking up ideas? I don't monitor what our coders (or the team) does, so yes they could be reading without me knowing about it, but generally it's up to me to catch ideas and report them to the team. Our support also gets tons of suggestions and they also provide feature requests to the team.

Yes it is a part of my job to read the bugs section and I report all new issues reported (which are new to us). Keep in mind that most of the bugs get reported directly to our support, who then report it to our QA, and from there it goes to a so called "task list" where our programmers (or sometimes artists if it is a graphical glitch) then pick tasks and fix them. Bugs which we can reproduce we can easily fix, whereas some bugs are not reproducible and thus may need more work to get fixed.

I don't keep track on which bugs are fixed and when, unless it is a major issue which affects dozens of players. We try to fix all reported and reproduced bugs for the next update. That has always been our main goal with bugs.

We encourage all players to report bugs through the game (if possible) since that way our support can quickly assist them, or then send a new bug report to our team. The bugs section of the forums is not read by our support people, but our QA peep just joined a while back and he will keep monitoring it from time to time as well.

I'm just wondering if you realise the extent to which the BOTS have changed? It's worrying.

Personally I accepted your assurance that buying & selling any item, at any price, from the DD was perfectly fine. That only constantly buying from the same 'BOT' farm (say if we were to 'follow' it) would cause us to be 'associated with a BOT farm' and to be at risk of being banned.

However, I have a very good friend who is very worried about losing her farm because she buys a lot of wheat from the DD. She buys other things too, but especially wheat. Thousands per day because the little people visit her often & buy loads. It is taking her a ridiculous amount of time to gather the wheat because she tries to be sure each farm isn't a BOT farm before buying. However, she feels she can't be even remotely sure anymore.

The other day she was on a level 70 farm, the farm was in an NH with players of various levels, all players/farms had different names (not Kevin1, Kevin2 etc) championship league in the Derby, the farm had happy looking animals, all level appropriate machinery etc so she was just about to buy the wheat when it was bought (as often happens due to the checking!) and it was replaced...at a speed well outside the possibility of a human doing so, lowering it to 3 coins per 10. It wasn't server lag because she watched it happening over and over. She's seen it a lot. A working farm with a BOT attachment it seems.

Gone are the days of a quick check to see the wrapped machines & starved animals :(

I'm posting this in case you aren't aware of how cunning some of them have become, but also to record my understanding of your POV on this and to have a record for my friend, should she get banned.

That simply goes to show how quickly bots adapt and change behaviour. But rest assured, we do all we can to create better and more accurate detection mechanics. As with any given game with bots, it's a struggle but we ain't giving in! :)

What assurance are you prepared to give us that simply playing the game, buying and selling through the DD, will not get us banned through no fault of our own. How can SC ban people when it's impossible to tell if you are buying from a BOT or not, not to mention the fact that it's really not a players responsibility to monitor the DD & other farms?

Well, like in your example you said that the RSS was immediately filled after a purchase. Just stay away from such. If someone finds a farm that acts inhumanly, just leave it be, or report it. Don't just use it anymore. The game doesn't ban based on occasional purchases.

In contrast, the Clash Team released a major update in December and then an optional update so Clashers may turn off the snow storm which was distracting as we raid bases for resources.

The above information is very reassuring and I'm delighted that the HD Team has learned from the recent mistakes made by the Clash Team. When Clash released the major, controversial Townhall 11 update in early December, there were some bugs and an optional update was released a few weeks later. New bugs were reported but the entire Clash Team already left for vacation during the Christmas holidays.

A mod informed us that some teams would return in mid January but he didn't know when the Clash Team would return and address the new bugs. Nick, I don't remember if your counterpart on the Clash Team was on vacation as well. Luckily, you were on vacation or Supercell would've deployed you to the front lines aka the Clash subforum to placate the angry Clashers flaming away daily. The mods were overrun and overwhelmed. :(

Sadly, Godwin's Law was invoked several times.

We can't have it both ways.
We can't have it that a bug reported repeatedly starting in mid-November was not seen / unknown / news to you in mid-January AND there are no bugs overlooked.

I do play my town as I play my farm and fishing area. We nerfed the drop rate of maps due to the "map-gate" we had. Then, we noticed that we nerfed it too much, and upped it a notch. The drop rates etc. get balanced all the time, when we see a need for it (based on our own findings, or reports from the players).

What is your point? I am completely lost in what your main goal/point is with your remarks?

I am sorry but I don't know about Clash stuff as I have my hands full with Hay Day. :unsure: I have no idea what's happening in the Clash forums, since I rarely read them.

The new update in our internal builds is very nice! :) Just 10min ago I gave it a go to test some changes.

Re the BOT situation...

What do you expect players to do/check on each farm & how much time do you expect them to spend checking out a farm before buying from their RSS?

When my friend buys wheat, she will buy loads because she's trying to fill her very large silo. She does this on a daily basis, several times a day. She only buys wheat in vast quantities and would not buy tools like this.

But she can't carry on spending so much time checking out each farm, it's really getting her down. She's a good, straight up, farmer just wanting to buy wheat without risking losing her farm. She needs some guidance as to what you expect of her, beyond 'stay away from obvious BOTS' because most of them are NOT obvious and she's getting very stressed by the situation.
