TH8 war

What strategies can a th8 use at war to 3 star (i know gowipe and goho, but whats the best?
Leave the strats down below and try to explain the reasons why those are better than others:D

Mass hogs, b/c GoHo is unnecessary unless you need to kill a queen and GoWiPe sucks

Gowipe is a two star strategy. Mass hogs and mass dragons can 3 any th8, and occasionally there's use for a goho.

To say nothing about the fact that it's like the go-to attack and is far, far too common (making it highly annoying/head-shaking when it comes). I suppose that's a good thing, as it very rarely ever gets a 3*, which means that helps for war, but good God is it bad...

I don't know what the attraction is. What? Do people see it in Champs and higher and think it's the bomb or something? It's easy??

To the OP:

Against certain bases, I might be a fan of GoWiPe (and these are really bad bases to begin with), but, nowadays, I don't even add golems to those armies. I simply go mass pekka, like 7, plus an L5 CC pekka. If Pekkas don't get hung up on walls, they will torch any TH8 war base with plenty to spare. But walls are the hard part, as most bases aren't duh.

I'm rarely a fan of dragons against ~max TH8 anymore, unless the attacker simply doesn't have any other option. Hog runs are simply a far, far stronger an attack, much more fun, and far less agonizing.

GoHo is a very strong attack, but I don't think it quite as strong as mass hogs. Note that GoHo isn't any weaker or unnecessary because you don't have to kill the AQ. It's just a different type of attack. Rather than hogging the base outright, a GoHo has a KS that often torches a good amount of the base and defenses and provides for distraction to back-end hogs. Certain people find it easier than mass hogs. Personally, it doesn't work nearly as well for me, but it's hard to argue with success...

The reality is, GoVaLo, GoVaHo, mass pigs, mass drags, Dragloon, are all VIABLE options to use for attacks, given base design, attacker skill, what they're comfortable with, etc. I personally really like Valks, so any time I see a base with centralized, single-compartment air def, I try to find a way to GoVaLo that base b/c I just like using that attack.

But as far as best overall attack-type goes, imo mass pigs is where it's at at TH8

i can agree that gowipe is an inconsistent 3 star and always a 2 star, but it takes a lot of time to put your hogs up to level 4, so i think that´s the main reason so many people use gowipe over and over again, plus there is a lot of upgrades in the lab as a th8.
another question, can level 3 hogs be already used as a mass hog or even goho to 3 star a th8, or do i still need those level 4 badboys?:)

I don't understand. It's 2 upgrades. It takes much longer to level golems to 2 and pekkas to 3 than just hogs to 4. Drags take forever as well.

Completely agree, the time dedication to get Pekka and Golem upgrades is much higher than the time it takes to get pigs to 4. They're the best option you have and a ton of good fun. Don't think about it, just do it!
