Is it just me or are level 5 Giants weak even against TH8s with semi maxed defences? On the other hand level 6 Giants seem to be bullet proof even against semi maxed TH9s. I have to say I absolutely hate Gibarch at TH8, it's so volatile. The giants are utter rubbish.
Giants were my 1st upgrade from TH8-TH9. The difference is astonishing. Just the way the game is. I hear its even more of a difference for lvl 7 Giants, but im a bit a ways from getting themQuote:

TH8 gets quite nice defensive bump over TH7, but not nearly the same offensive bump. This include LV5 giants. Maybe back in the day LV5 giants were adequate.
Maybe train 4~6 valks to complement LV5 giants. Yes, they cost some DE but they have HP like LV6 Giants and more DPS (plush splash dmg).

Some troops don't have a very constant stats boost and some levels have a huge one while others have a little one
I always had to have 2 healers on my level 5 giants. With level 6 Giants just need 1 healer. They are a big improvement and definitely worth upgrading to right away!

It's tank abilities (hitpoints) increase 40% (670 hps to 940 hps) over level5 (the most significant hps increase among all troops in the game b/t levels, I believe). Once th10, however, level6 to level7 giants is not as significant (17% improvement to 1100 hps), but you'll most likely be maxing/relying on golems more at that point.
