Remember how the forums used to be?

And finally modders, I will not defend that this is fine and in control,its gotten outright ridiculous and deserves to be reported, but at the same time trying to bash sc for doing nothing like what alot of people are doing helps nothing and instead people should try to give out insite into the issue and help sc fix it

Am I crazy for thinking that the forums have gotten a little to carried away in complaining? Or do you agree?

How do you suggest that this should be done, when we speak, they never listen and the threads are closed faster then they start? (I say never listen as there is never anyone from SC saying anything... or it's "we are doing something" but the result is just not visible to us players)

But yes some complains are ... lets say a little to much, but SC has a big blame in this, as they dumped an update that was so filled with bugs and just closed off all communication to their playerbase when every player had the time to play a lot.... Bad timing.. Yes.. From that point, this is the result. It will take a lot of work to gain respect from the users of this forum to bring back the "good" old days... Oh yeah the Mods here can't bring that back (they are doing a good job) But only the people working at SC can make that change.... The ball is in their court so to say...

And the the "a real chief", "never meant to be played that way" is not a good communication....

No the forum is just reflecting peoples feelings, a lot of people are upset and angry post update and the forum reflects that. If you want to change the toxicity of the forums SC needs to address the issues that people are upset about, seems simple right?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I bring you tales from another forum, a game called "MW" by another gaming company spelled Greed, without the "d" at the end. Some of you may have heard of it.

The forum was, at the outset, a wonderful exchange of ideas, strategy, bug identification, and the like. Much like it was here before the TH11 update. However, the developers started nerfing things, changing core dynamics, making long term strategies useless overnight, and creating points of no return for accounts. All in the name of boosting the revenue.

This is history repeating itself here.

A divide within the community grew, with the haters and fanbois constantly bickering about this and that, driven to a point of having community managers never check in because things had got so toxic, and when they did, ban hammers swung with wild abandon. That forum is now dead after all of the combustible passion for the game left, as the players grew tired of getting squeezed for the never-ending pay-to-advance cycle of the freemium model. Once the temperament changed in the forum, it was never the same. Pandora's box as been opened, and enjoy the ride.

I remember these forums being less toxic but not by much. I thought people were gonna lose their minds during the hero ability update.

I think the difference now boils down to a lack of empathy.

More so than any prior update, the th11 update revealed just how differently people had been playing all along.

Before that, I think people assumed that others played roughly the same way as them - whatever that happened to be.

Now we are banging heads with people whose whole game experience was wildly different to ours all along but we didn't know it - especially at the intersect with lifestyle.

It's understandably hard to empathise - sort of like we were playing different games.

Personally, I think the recent changes had to happen but it took me a while to appreciate how that has affected some categories of player.

I doubt that SC will reverse that update but I respect people's right to campaign for that outcome.

There will come a time when it either changes back (doubtful) or the possibility of change passes beyond anyone's hope.

Some normalcy will return at that point - until the next furore.

First off, can we get any kind of a coder to come and demonstrate exactly how Supercell is supposed to control modders? From what I can tell, the game is mostly on the player's device. My phone heats up and the battery drains every time I do anything in the app, and I keep track of how much data is going to Supercell, it's kilobytes. Supercell is only getting and sending short strings of code. How exactly is Supercell supposed to solve the modding problem?

Second, the loot problem. Here it is: protecting loot is meaningless. Everything that's earned when a shield is up can disappear the second it goes down. Growing it is meaningless for the same reason. It's impossible to save for the higher priced resources on mines and collectors alone. So why have mines and collectors? There's not only no reason to upgrade them, there's no reason to even have them. They are now meaningless. This is going to effect the economy of the game.

Third, unfairly weighted battles. Y'all know that you're supposed to be helping out new players and bringing them into war with you, sharing your wealth, that sort of thing. These guys help bring the war weight down, and you can do two attacks per war, you can do their attacks for them. So what if they bring down the total loot amount you could win? They have strategic value.

Ok, now to the complaining. The recent update ruined a lot of players' gaming experience. These are the kind of players who like to play Minecraft in creative mode and just build stuff. Battles, they didn't care. Loot, they didn't care. Their gaming experience was ruined, and as Supercell can probably tell by now, there were a lot of them. They are just as entitled to their opinions as anybody else is. You only have to put up with them for a little while, but how about you show what great players are, and respect their opinions and what they're going through instead of trashing them every time they show up?

The good ol' days eh... i remember the good ol' days...

they are practically the same as of right now...

Good posts, bad posts, nonsense posts, whineposts, trollposts... essentially the same, only with slightly different details...

well, prolly the TS meant those days where i wasnt on this forum yet, so i cant really say anything about it
