Several times I've lost lot of gems by clicking wrongly the gem button for example when a constructrion is not finished yet.
Isn't better a confirm button before using the gems just like happens with castle loot?
Thanks,
Decimus.

No.
Cash on!
When you want to gem an upgrade, there is a confirmation icon asking if you want to spend X amount of gems to finish the upgrade, why would you need a second one? The same could be done for other aspects in the game, but a second confirmation would be pointless in my opinion.
In any case where you explicitly ask to spend gems in order to complete a task, there are, what amounts to - two confirmation.
i.e. The upgrade is in progress.
- You click on the upgrading structure.
- You click on the button to "finish now" - which includes the number of gems required to complete the upgrade.
- You must then confirm that number of gems in another dialog.
HOWEVER, if all of your builders are occupied and you, say, click on a bush and click on the clear button. That "clear" or "remove" button includes an amount of gold or elixir it will cost in order to clear the item, with NO reference to spending gems in order to free a builder. After that click, you get a SINGLE prompt indicating that you are about to spend gems.
I could see where this is an inconsistency. In the first example, you clearly click on two items which include a gem cost associated with the action. In the second example, you only get one item which references a gem cost.
You have to be thankful that SC didn't implement "tapping the bldg once will automatically Gemmed and finish the construction time. 😬
It sucks. Sometimes my ipad/clash idk the culprit, will freeze for a split second. I have had this result in accidental extra clicks and clicking on spots i hadn't intended resulting in accidental confirmation of the gem expenditure.
This is the reason I have not and never will buy gems in large increments, I could totally see myself accidentally spending thousands of gems. At least you can turn off in game purchasing on your ipad to avoid accidental purchases, there really should be a similar in game feature to turn off gem spending until you actually want to use that feature.
The worst was when I was queuing up dragons for a war attack on my defenseless account. There wasn't enough elixir but the game glitched as described above resulting in accidental purchase of the missing elixir. Totally wasted a hundred or so gems and I had the elixir sitting in my clan castle...
related reason to have a feature turning off gem purchases in game:
It hasn't happened to me yet, but I am sure it will. I share my ipad with my 2 year old. Of course I turn of in app purchasing before giving him the device, but there is no way to turn off gem purchases or prevent opening clash. The baby has on numerous occasions opened up clash, since I am always in the room i hear the opening sounds and close it, but one of these days he is bound to waste some gems. Its like supercell actually wants accidental purchases like this...
In my case I've wasted almost 300 gems when there was a tree to trunk and all my workers were busy.
When the player clicks on "Remove" a new dialogappears: "All builders are busy! Complete the previous building and free up a builder" and it requires X gems.
At this point I think it would be better a cofirm dialog that asks if the player is sure to spend X gems to free a builder.. I don't whink that it's an illogic implementation because if it's been applyed to collect the castle treasury it can be applyed also in this case that I consider much more important than free the castle's loot!!
I'm just happy they have a confirmation for buying gems. Quite often I accidentally click the + gems button on accident and then my next click is on the chest.
I think there is a confirmation of gem spending for everything in this game with the exception of gemming troops and spells.
I've played other games where it was much easier to accidentally spend.
I wish they would have the confirm gems to free up builder button pop up in a different location than the remove obstacle button. I recently spent over 800 gems by getting click happy collecting resources and then trying to remove obstacle without slowing down e ouch to realize I was spending gems. Even if it is rare, it is maddening. If that prompt showed up in a different spot on the screen, it would have woke me up to what was happening.
Either that or give an undo button. I was also saving up elixir for warden upgrade, went to rearm traps but inadvertently clicked a wall behind the town hall and spent 3 mil elixir to upgrade the wall instead of arming traps.
All I am pointing out is there is a minor difference in the way it occurs.
If you click on a structure which is in progress of upgrading, the lower-right button includes a number of gems required to complete the upgrade. If you click on that button, you get an alert stating the number of gems required to complete the action.
If you click on, for example, a tree/rock and you want to clear that obstacle, the lower-center button has no mention of gems, but instead, lists the amount of gold or elixir required to take the action. If you click on that button mentioning the gold or elixir cost, at that point you get an alert stating the number of gems required to free up a builder to complete the action.
In both cases, the pop-up alert is the same, and clearly states gems are required.
You are exactly right. When you focus on some object/structure which is upgradeable but not in progress, the button you initially push includes the gold or elixir required to complete the requested action, then if builders are all busy, a second alert requests confirmation to spend gems.
I wouldn't say I universally want a second confirmation, but I do acknowledge there could be a moment of confusion.
In the end, the OP clicked a button which clearly identified a number of gems were going to be spent. The lesson being: while there may be some inconsistency, don't click on a button until you have read and understand the consequences.
It's pointless , SC willn't implement it . They can get big bucks withe no conformation . Maybe Think 2x before doing anything
