Time to boycott this game

Hear me out.

Every update requires more money to keep pace, you have no chance of catching those top players in the top 3 clans slow playing this game since they get free gems every week, and can upgrade for free.

Maybe if us lower class poor people stop spending money on this game, things will change.

It's like banging your head against a wall non-stop. Eventually you will knock yourself out. Us not in the top of this game will never get there, why bother?

Ye who spends the most wins here. I'm done spending money on this game, there is no light at the end of the tunnel for me. Even if I spend, I will never catch those who get the free gems. Why bother.

This was a fun game when I first started playing, but the greed of Supercell ruined it. They expect 99% of the masses to spend cash to try to catch up, while rewarding the 1% who get free gems, who they will never catch.

This game is ruined by greed. Supercell will not see another dime of my money.

Yousef and jessiebrar just paid for their monthly salary, so I doubt a boycott would work. Supercell realized that if 100 people paid $3000 it would be just as good as 12000 people paying $25. They are working the demand curve for this game, and taking advantage of people willing to shell the dough. My only hope is for them to use that money to research ways to keep us busy during long wait times and to add cool clan features

Those free gems are really nothing. It's not like they are collecting gems and paying nothing. People in the top spots win 1000 gems. That is 1 level 10 wall segment or about $10 worth of gems. They are spending hundreds a week to maintain those spots. A number of them just spent thousands on the new upgrades.

I hate to see you guys go. But in all honesty, A lot of us non gemmers are actually having fun right now and feels like our game step up a notch. At least there's something to do cos towards the end (maxing the base) there'd be nothing else to do. At least this update adds few months, if not, years on our gameplay.

Supercell is a firm not a ong. They are winning money in this, they are not wrong doing this, releasing updates and not getting a end on this.

Clash of clans is one of the only ones app games where you can play the game and get everything without have to pay. From the builders, where u can get them in achievements (3/5), to the defenses one, might be slower in the upgrade time than ppl who pay for this, but u can reach a nice base paying 0.
I can't understand, there is no motive you try harder to be a top player if u are not having fun.

I think gemmers are ruining the fun of the game for themselves. Why is everyone so hell-bent on maxing their base? Then there's nothing to do except train and attack! It's just an endless grind and they'll have wasted their money, because it would be boring. So, stop complaining about gemmers. You're not missing out on much.

Those guys are busy businessmen. They don't have time to grind for resources but they have lots of time grinding for real money in the real world. Do the math. It's easier for them to grind real money and buy stuff in CoC than grind CoC currency and fail at real life.

In all honesty why do you all want to rush in the end? People will complain no matter what. No updates? People whine because they want some. The company gives us, we always find an excuse to whine. This update lengthens the age of the game. Why rush to the end so fast? Enjoy it. You don't need to spend anything on this game. All you need is patience and don't spend those free earned gems from the village obstacles and achievements to get the builders.

Too long to wait for resources, build your army, build that construction, etc.? Get out of your house and do something.

I am glad that they have pushed in new content.

if the game continues, it should have updates... otherwise, it will be finished soon. and no one will play this "short" game...

you really can't please all people...

the reason everyone wants to rush to the end is because there is NO point in collecting trophies in the mean time.
If we could actually be rewarded by having more in the early stages of the game then there wouldnt be these "2 stages" of the game.
That being the first 99% farming and raiding, then finally you can test your skills for trophies.

Its kinda ♥♥♥♥ that from level 30 to now (70), ive increased my trophies 300...

I don't understand how you guys even have it as your goal to reach top 3 clans, or players.. In every single game you play there is always going to be someone that is better, or someone that spends more money than you.
I remember when I first played Call of Duty and I wanted to get top number 1 at the leader boards.. Well, it didn't take long until I realized that was impossible. This didn't make me stop enjoying the game. I just had to set a different goal.
It's the same way with CoC.. I have realized that I can't be number 1, but I have to say that this game has brought me really close to the top! I'm in a top 20 clan and among the 4000 best players. So I don't think this game is bad at all compared to other games :)

Having 100 high paying customers is not the same as having 12000 small customers on the long run, and I doubt supercell thinks so either. The thing is, they have both and also 100000 really small customers...

You don't think a lot of lv7 players used 5€ to get a barb king?

For most people the best part of the game is not having everything maxed out, it's the process of progressing (even if they don't understand it). I'm sure Supercell is keeping a close eye at small purchases and the possibility to boost barracks and collectors is an example of features to drive those sales.

The last few months people have been complaining how boring it was to be maxxed out, and how they hit a wall at th9. One reason for the complaints is, that the process of upgrading and having something new on the horizon is one of the main parts of the game experience.

I guess the main people complaining are the ones who don't like waiting, and just want to be on the top... Life is hard... :)

I would like to thank you Supercell for the works done and i hope they will become richer because they deserve it.

This is really a fun games, that i will play "forever" with all this contents and when the job day finish, my sons are in bed i always play with fun one or two hours.

I do not know if i am the target market of Supecell, i am TH 7 and lvl 45 and until now i spend 23 euro (to get 5 builders) to play a game more that 100 hours... and always with fun.

How many games will do this?

For sure i will give some more money to get heroes and for sure i will be not an high rank player.
But trust me, in the meanwhile this game addict only fun to my life.

Couldn't agree more. Let me quote the pareto principle from wikipedia:

"The Pareto principle (also known as the 80–20 rule, the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes."

In other words, 20% of the top gem spenders roughly contribute towards 80% of Supercell income. Having spent so many gems, those top players deserve something back...so SC gave them something to spend their gems on :P. I am not amongst the 20% but I am still enjoying the game very much. In fact, i'm saving for my 2nd x-bow hehehe. Stop whining and just enjoy the game.

Something else I would like to point out is other people spending money on gems doesn't disadvantage you in any way, unless you are already the top player in the game, this game is pretty good a normalizing things...
Basically if you buy a bunch of gems and upgrade your base your trophies will naturally improve, improving the power of the people attacking you, leading to a situation where you will start to win some and lose some.

Something interesting about the way the economics of this game works, and the side effects thereof is the more gems other people buy the more you benefit.

This works like this:
The time limit of this game is set on the overall upgrade cost of all bases in gold; game gold is earned at a finite rate.
The only way that gold can be lost from the game is through the combat matchmaking buy in. The more gold there is in the system the more there is to steal.

This means that people spending gems on gold introduces more gold into system thereby increasing the amount of gold available for you to steal.

This is economics of scale...

I am not going to write a lecture here as to why, but the significance on the overall system is far greater than you may perceive, you just have to learn how to cash in on it... and the change to the system by developers to increase the overall gold limit buy ~100x will mean that there will be a lull in the availability of said resource, but this is only in the short term...

well its tough to see that if your not a gemmer your goin to stay way behind now, but i doubt any of you will just quit coc we r addict to this game, you can get the heroes but it will take months to do so thats what am thinking someday i will get there lol.

if you are not a hardcore gemmer, i doubt you'd be anywhere near the top.
i gem occassionally (e.g builders and instant building completion when i wanna use up my gold before offlining), and dont care if i'm in the top100000 players.. most important is to enjoy the game.

dont hate just because you've spend a coupla bucks on the game and got your @ss wiped by a high level player. in the end, if you are not enjoying the game, go find something else to do with your time..

and leave your resources out for loots ;)

Look, CoC was free when you donloaded it. Why? Cos those high rollers pay the bills with their instant gemming.

i have zero interest in getting into the top 50, I'd rather spend my cash on my life.
Constantly evolve your game play, and the fun is still there. Bored at high level? Delete the app and start over? It will cost you nothing!

Clash of Clans is just a game. The main purpose of games: entertainment, fun, time-spender etc. The most important thing is to enjoy the journey while it lasts. I started CoC two months ago and even though an update opened up new contents to further lengthen gameplay, quitting did not even cross my mind. I know I will never reach the part of CoC where I have everything maxed out, but I'm enjoying it all the same.

No one is forcing players to invest money on CoC it's their own choice and ofcourse in this game and in EVERY SINGLE GAME u ger further faster by using real money. I have TH level 8 and I have used 0€ on this game, sure I'm not in the top on leaderboards but so what? I'm having fun. It's ones own choice whether to invest to this game or not. First of all, is there even a way to win this game? The OP mentioned that we will nvr catch up with those at the top, but when was the last time u ended up first in a multiplayer online game? If u r quitting because of that, well good luck finding a game that allows u to be number 1 without spending the most money.

Secondly, do u even know how much gem the top players spend to keep them there? For all you know the gem reward barely break even for them.

Asking to be able to catch up to the one at the top by spending less and starting the game later, who is the greedy one i wonder?

Adapt and overcome....such is life! I agree with you Maggie. I really do like seeing the changes with my defensive items as they level up. For me this is a big part of the game, waiting and seeing your weapon reach a higher level. I look forward to seeing the replays of how they did after an upgrade.

Might aswell boycot real life too. Like the game im able to get further in life faster by investing money. Shocker i know.

Yes, I know that feeling. My Wizard towers are a level six and in three days I will be able to get my week sheild. At that point I am going to upgrade all three of my Wizard towers to level seven. Ten day wait on that providing we don't get any new updates with the game. New color here I come :rolleyes:

@ Rockout, I only wish my money updates would go as fast as some of my defenses, I need a better wall to keep my wife away, she a hell of an offense, the way she attacks. Lol :cool:
