Just wondering if any higher level farms have bought any production buildings and then stopped using them? I was desperate to get my coffee kiosk but after using it a time or two it now sits idle because I've become a terrible miser with my sugar. I'm only level 51 so I'd be interested to know what things higher levels have bought but wish they hadn't.
I'm level 88 and I'm glad that I didn't bought more than 2 smelters. I never bought additional production slots for them either.
Machines I hardly use: Candy machine, honey extractor, sushi bar, salad bar, sandwich bar, smoothie mixer, pasta maker, hat maker, pasta kitchen, hot dog stand :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:XDXD
Now I'm wondering what am I producing all the day. Lol
Do you make jewelry or just sell the bars? I thought when I started playing that I would buy every machine but now I don't think I will. Decisions decisions, XDXDQuote:

Many people try to get 3 stars on all machines. That's why there are so many red hats and tofu dogs for sale (they are easier to make than other goods on these machines).

Candy also brings great XP.
I also have "a real blast" mining, smelting, making and selling jewelry. I have all 5 smelters, and try to keep them running 24/7. The bars are great for keeping the jeweler running (jewelry brings in a lot of coins, XP and vouchers), and to upgrade your personal train.
Anything you you make on these machines, you can sell, so if you have the coins and land space to purchase them, it will help you advance in the game.

Some say it's too much hassle and I agree, but having the extra dairy/sugar when you need it solves an even bigger hassle. :)
Most people play the areas of the game that interest them. Some won't do town or truck orders so may find certain machines are not used much but as you progress in the game you may find yourself doing more and more and all of the machines will be needed. At my level 138 I play all aspects of the game and find all machines are usually running, as I help out all of my neighbourhood. Hay Day is an ever changing game depending on your point of interest at the time but I would recommend that if you can afford them buy all machines along the way.
With the exception of the coffee cart, I keep all the machines running. Every good you produce gives XP. And, extras can always be sold.
I never owned all the smelters until the derby was in full swing. After mining a few times, I realized I needed them, because they essentially act as additional storage for all the ore once more slots are opened. They run almost continuously now except when I take a break from a derby. The bars that are produced, I make jewelry to sell and expand personal train time. Any extra gets sold. I have to say that my the coffee kiosk sits idle a lot as does my hat maker.
I find I run the machines I like the produce of more 😮 Don't use the popcorn oven, Hot Dog Stand or Pasta Machine very much because I don't like Popcorn or Hotdogs.
I do use the coffee machine but normally do it "to order".
Other machines run more or less all the time although it depends if I have the necessary ingredients.
I only read about a baby farm last week and my head nearly exploded when the giant lightbulb went off! I have 3 old iPads lying around doing nothing. My two granddaughters use two of them so I'll use the other one. Genius! I can't believe I hadn't thought of it before:facepalm::facepalm:Quote:

I think it makes the game very difficult to not have all of the machines, but some people choose not to & seem to cope just fine. Throughout the game, the way you play changes, as does the value (to you) of coins, vouchers & diamonds. The 40/50 levels are by far the most demanding on coins, but you are coming to the end of that now.
The only things I regret buying are the 2/3 pens of goats & sheep. I put off buyng them for a long time, but caved in because we were trashing too many 320 Derby tasks because either people didn't have them all or those that did wouldn't do them. A couple of weeks after, I left that NH & started up my own small NH and we don't do those tasks because they're too slow and we'd never 'place' if we did them :facepalm:. They take up too much room and are completely unnecessary, there's always a ton of wool and goats milk in the DD.

I'm only lv 34 at this stage so can usually manage to keep everything busy.
But hearing about the coffee kiosk is a concern, I'm flat out keeping up with Dairy & Sugar products as it is. An additional strain on those machines would be an issue.
Looks like I'll end up with some 'cook to order' machines in the future.
I keep all of my machines running 24/7 that includes feeding mills. The only one I slack on here and there if the coffee machine. I feel weird if I don't constantly produce lol
Edit: I have all smelters and most slots opened in it, but I was trying to achieve Helter smelter III, and now I just keep them stocked up with ore and make bars all the time, and make jewelry from the bars since my train is fully upgraded. I do agree that all smelters are not necessary, depends on your goals. On all my other machines I have all slots open and masteries completed.
The good thing about the coffee drinks though is that usually they are asked from boats, trucks and townies in small amounts, like they will ask for 2-3 coffee drinks usually. Most of them don't take long to make (35 mins for one, sorry busy so can't look for exact times) so you can easily make espresso, hot chocolate, rasp mocha etc for your orders and not have to wait forever, like say the candy and jam products.Quote:
