Great idea, but a couple of years late.

Google may confuse this with a different sort of database.
This is for the new API data that just was released on beta, not a wiki.
Unfortunately all the data they've currently made available via the API is already hosted here:
https://clashofclans.com/clans/search
In fact it's likely their own site was used as a test of the API. What will your CoC database contain that's different?
Until they ship more endpoints that provide new information (wars, deeper member profiles with hero levels, etc.) there' not much that can be done with the API that hasn't been done already.
How come you guys don't have a sig?? Your alrdy in the creativity section... Go get one at a shop, there free:smirk:
Weird...I don't recall finding world ranking player/clan on their official website.
In game you cannot check other location than where you are.
Give it sometimes for developper to gather ideas, here are some of mine:
- war wins leaderboard: update regularly by pulling clan info from a group of clan tag
- improved clan recruitment: service that use clan search API and added feature to let clan and members find each other XD
- track activity with donation stat/trophies
Those projects could be huge and not only a simple display of info we can get from API.
Without a unique identifier anything that tracks player activity is broken from the start. How many people in the game are called "big papa"? Not including the player tag in the API is an indicator where this is going. My point here and in other threads is the tradition of extremely limited data looks like it's going to continue, and there isn't a lot of value in most of this (yet).
As far as "giving them time", building an API takes an order of magnitude less effort than the game itself. Adding player tag would literally take 2 minutes of code/test/deploy. I don't know anything about game design, but I know a heck of a lot about data architecture and building API's.
