I once accidentally sped up a coffee bush and lost 16 diamonds. Support returned them to me.
My daughter spent 54 diamonds filling a wool crate (when she didn't have any wool) and they were returned when she asked.

Today I made a mistake and lost 54 diamonds. Supercell said they do not have a way to undo it. I knew the support person was lying and told him/her so.
Anyway, I am moving on from it. It is easy for me to accept that I am fallible. Is it easy for support to accept that they are proven liars?:(
Technically, they cannot "undo" your error. So, if you speed up something they cannot reverse the action - undo it. When i had made an error, they came back and told me what i did. I answered politly and they gave me a "gift" of my diamonds back and warned me it was a one time thing. Probably calling them a liar would eliminate that possibility in your correspondance. However, my error was a small amount. I do not know what their max limit, if any is. This was also a year ago, so they may or may not be able to still do so. Anyways, if it happens again it may be worth it to try again with a different tactic. It took me two or three back and forth before they sent me my diamonds. Some customer services (i do not know about SC) only allow their staff to offer compensation after a minimum correspondence. Good luck if you try again in the future.
I already knew what that said before I opened it. Same o same o cautionary statements and unbidden advice. snore.
Now that you mention it HF, I think I had to respond to SC Support's original nonresponsive response telling me that what happened to the diamonds, (which I already knew). I asked them a second time POLITELY to please refund the diamonds. On the 2nd contact, they did. I had expected a long wait, but only an hour after the 2nd ask, here comes Alfred to Peachie's farm. :)
So yes, the first response seemed canned, but the 2nd response gave me everything I asked for very quickly, AND they complimented my daughter for reaching level 60-something. So her issue was resolved satisfactorily.
Snakiddy -- Support is NOT LYING -- they're telling the truth. They CAN'T UNDO whatever you did. In our examole, they couldn't undo the filled crate -- the crate was filled for 54 diamonds and the boat was sent off.
What they CAN do (and in our repeated experience WILL do) is reimburse your diamonds that were used by mistake.
Over 3 years on 2 farms either my daughter or I have received diamond refunds for:
*Accidentally buying a gold voucher --80 diamonds OUCH
*Accidentally buying a windmill -- 35 diamonds
*Accidentally filling a wool crate -- 54 diamonds
*Accidentally speeding up a pig -- handful of diamonds
We could NOT receive a refund of diamonds or coins for:
*Accidentally buying Tom -- 60 diamonds
*Buying a golden goat statue -- 1.5M coins
I'd love to have my 1.5M coins back and have no golden goat. But instead I got some apologetic commiseration, some polite suggestions on making money, and I have a goat in storage. My daughter didn't want Tom, but once bought he could not be unbought, so we used him as well as we could and she learned not to tap him.
The inability of Support to help us in these 2 instances did not make us bitter or angry. Usually when we have reached out to them we have been helped, even though sometimes it takes a while (see my disappearing snail thread).
Instead of asking Support to do the impossible and calling them liars when they tell you the truth of the limitations of what they can do, why not accept what they CAN AND WILL do for you instead? Or was there some other goal you wanted to achieve from your interaction with Support? Something unrelated to recovering lost diamonds?
I thought the point of this thread was to see if other players had gotten diamonds refunded for making playing mistakes. Now I think it was not about that at all .....
I am no reflexive apologist for SC, or for their usually clueless Outsourced Support. But multiple times we have been reimbursed for our own mistakes playing the game that cost us diamonds, we have received a gliched deco back. Therefore, generally, we have had positive outcomes when we have asked Support for help.
Sorry if that doesn't fit the desired narrative?
wow! I feel dumb now! I 'lost' 60+ diamonds and wrote to support. was told they can see in records I sped up some production and I should look at it as not lost but that i 'used' the diamonds and no, I will not get diamonds back. :(
