Chief Patter's guide to good farming
Hey! So I am a level 50 farmer with a Town Hall level 7. I have been farming for roughly 3 months now, and its been working out great. If you want to be a "proper" farmer, there are a few steps you might want to follow:
----------------
1)Farming base layout
An important part of farming is your base layout, which should contain your resources at the center of your village, whilst keeping your Town Hall out of range of defenses. This way, various people will attack you, making you lose trophies but getting tiny amounts of loot. It may seem somewhat heart-breaking as you log on to find your trophies gone down, but trust me, it's worth it. There are plenty of great layouts on the Internet.
2)Finding the right league
The second phase of farming is finding the right league. It is important to find a league in which you can raid easily whilst getting large sums of money. The right league for me is Silver League II, where my attacking average is around 250 000 a pop. Once you are confident about your league, you can move on to step 3.
Note: watch out for other farmers! If you find yourself in a League with too many farmers, then move down a League.
3)Attacking
When farming, you are obviously aiming to obtain loot, not trophies. To do this, the best solution is to train Goblins, famous for their thirst for Gold and Elixir. This is the attack strategy that I use to raid others out there (it is advised that troops should be levels 3 or over, and that they are deployed in this specific order):
20 Archers or Barbarians: One of these small units are to be placed within the enemy's Clan Castle range. If there are troops in the Clan Castle, simply lead them away and eliminate them with the 19 remaining Archers/Barbarians.
20 Giants: These beefy brutes are used to take out all splash damage defenses, such as Wizard Towers and Mortars (the Goblin's greatest weakness).
6 Wall Breakers: These are obviously to penetrate the walls containing the pesky Wizard Towers and Mortars. It is advisable to send these little guys with the Giants, as they will not be targeted (and killed) by Archer Towers and Cannons.
50 or more Goblins: The last thing is just to fill up your remaining spots with Goblins! These green thieves are to send ONLY after all Wizard Towers and Mortars have been eliminated. Once these primary defenses are down, the Cannons and Archer Towers have no chance of taking these mean machines down!
Spells: I would advise taking two Healing Spells, as these are extremely useful when your Giants are getting a little weak, bit only use them when necessary, as they are quite expensive! I hardly ever use them, but they are good to have as a backup.
4)Ending the battle
The time to end a farming raid is when all the loot is stolen (excepting the Town Hall loot). When the Goblins start targeting other buildings end the battle. In doing this, you will obtain large amounts of money but trophies will be rewarded in the single figures. If you are lucky, you will even be able to lose trophies whilst getting loot.
----------------
So I hope this helped! This a great strategy and I advise any farmer to try it. If you want to check out my base for a good layout, here are a few details:
-Clash of Clans username: Patter
-Clan: Death Bunnies
-GameCenter: The_Epic_Potato
I did include Wall Breakers :)

But the way you use giants is very weird... Your army includes no wall breakers. How do you expect the giants to get through all the compartments. If there is no wall breakers, I would use the giants as distractions. Then the goblins can get the resources without having to wait for the giants to destroy all the splash damage defenses.
If you look at the attacking category, you'll notice "5 Wall Breakers" just before Goblins. :)
