A Suggestion to improve Loot.

The concept is essentially adding interest so you gain more loot from your Collectors.
Here is how it will work.

Your Collectors will get added interest the more loot you have in the storage. The more gold you have saved, the more interest on gold, the more elixir, the higher the interest on elixir etc. The more you save, the easier it is to obtain. However, for the intial interest to kick in, you must first reach the required amount which could be, for simplicity's sake, when your storages reach 25% in capacity.

So let's talk about gold...

-Interest kicks in when that gold storages reaches 25% capacity.
-You will unlock an interest of 5% on your gold collectors. In other words, a 5% increase in gold.

So let's do the math real quick, a level 12 collector produces 3,500 gold an hour.

To get how much additional gold you would get an hour...

multiply 3,500•0.05=175

So you get an extra 175 gold every hour.
Thats not very much, however this interest percentage increases the more gold you have in storage.

So once you reach 35% storage capacity it would increase to a 10% in interest.
A 45% storage capacity=15% interest
and the pattern goes on.
This makes saving loot easier the more of it you have obviously.

That covers Gold, but this concept can be applied to the other resources too.
I want to point out that if you have the required amount for interest in gold it will not add interest on other resources. They are entirely separate.

Note: take the numbers with a grain of salt as they are fillers to help explain the concept to you.

Reasoning: How can this help the loot situation? To modify player behavior that helps the economy, and the farmers.

We currently don't have a incentative to save a lot of loot other than for upgrades, and usually you can see people dump that loot in walls or somewhere. You need to modify that player behavior. If you DID give more of a reason to save, and hold on to some of that loot, it would give more for farmers to loot.
This would help the economy.

After Thought Additions: There may have to be an additional benefit that is also added to the interest you gain by saving loot. Reason being, some may feel the risk of having more loot being taken from them isn't worth the risk.

I feel this un-named additional benefit should...
-encourage the desired behavior of saving loot
-it helps the player feel the risk of having so much loot to steal is worth the reward
-should help during raids so that players will want to keep their storages full so it makes raiding easier. However they become huge bulls eyes.
-Increases with storage capacity just like the interest rate mention above.

Further on that when I figure one out or someone, brilliantly, comes up with one.

I have thought of adding increasing troop HP depending on your loot capacity, but that feels a little too easy so I want to think of something better.

Final Thoughts:
The reason why the numbers were fillers wasn't only just to fill in gaps to help explain the idea, but it is likely that these numbers would be bigger than what I am giving. I also didn't even give a cap on the interest you could build simply because these things are likely to change just as are the interest percentages themselves.


TL;DR: Essentially, the concept is making your storages, and collectors work together as what would resemble a Savings Account.

Well, the ideea is nice, but the problem is that as a programmer this will be a bit complicated and maybe will mess something else, and the most important the players are already confused about this new stuff like treasury, daily quests with less than 24 h ( that can make up to 2 consecutive quests), etc. so this would complicate game even more, even if in essence just means more loot.

You make a good point. Though wouldn't it be fair to say any time you add anything to the game it runs the risk of affecting something? That being said, idk if it messing something up matters a whole lot since the game is regularly updated.

As far as over complicating the game? I was thinking about that too. Some people seem to feel the game is getting more complicated.
Though I don't think you can add to a game without complicating it a little more each time you add something.

Plus this game requires quite a bit of thought, and strategy as others have clearly shown. Otherwise if it wasn't already complicated there wouldn't be any helpful guides on YouTube or on the forums to help players out. IMO the matter of strategy is more complicated than little features like the treasury, and the loot cart etc.

Regardless of all that, in practice can you see this improving the loot situation across a lot of THs? Especially when in practice it's goal is to make people save loot?

It can improve and i give you one big reason, dead bases usually don't have storages full so they won't beneficiate of this improvement, but active players most of the time have storages with good amount of loot so it can help. But the percentage may require some changes because it is a big too much what you wrote it can be something like : 30-60% a 5% increase, 60-80% a 10% increase and 80-100% a 15 % increase, or only 2 steps like 33-66 / 67-100.

My intention was to target active players. So dead bases never crossed my mind. I am a little iffy if I should incorporate them at all in the concept somehow.

Now as far as the percentages, I would agree there. Afterall, the ones I have were just fillers as to help explain the concept more clearly.

The difference between adding more steps or less may actually matter as far as player satisfaction is concerned. Just adding 2 steps may feel insignificant to the player when they work hard to save up for that benefit. I think more steps would help encourage the desired behavior better. However, the increments to which the interest would increase would have to be obviously smaller step to step.

However I don't want it to be so insignificant that it has little affect in trying to modify the behavior that I'd be trying achieve with the concept. Unless there were other benefits that you get other than the interest rate.

I would say at least add the concept in first. If it doesn't achieve the desired affect you could come up with with added benefits for saving loot. So at each point you gain a interest increase you also get another benefit like a small refund percentage for surviving troops(merely an example so don't take that too seriously). Which would go up with the interest. Just something that would encourage the behavior is all I am suggesting.

So if you want more steps : let's say 4 like 25-50/50-70/70-85/85-100 but the percentage should lower then like 5-7-10-13% otherwise is too much

I had a similiar post about the tombstone that drops after you kill a troop (hero) should be a percentage of it's current status : lets say dragon lvl 1 = 20k elix so 1000 elix drop ( 5%, it can be even 3% still better than 20 elix[currently] ) and so on dragon lvl 5 -> more elixir ( this can be a very good defense win) and for heroes like some DE like 0.1% of the current level upgrade cost ( 100k de -> 100 de drop)

I think that is fair. So long as there at least more than 2-3 steps to reward the player. Even if the increase are small. If it doesn't provoke what I am hoping the concept does I may have to think of something that isn't TOO signifacnt on its own, but would help encourage players to save loot. Which is why I thought a refund of resources based on a percentages may be a nice touch. If not that, I can't think of much else.

It may help to think of a additional benefit that also solves another one of the game's issues through this concept. If I did it would be just that much more elegant of an idea.

I had thought of the VERY same thing, but unlike you I never made a thread on it. Plenty of people want a reward for a good defense. Which led them to suggesting a loot bonus, but people had arguments for that. I can't think of a reason why it would be an issue to allow such a reward system to exist in the game. It sorta already exists in the game, it's just the tombstones are a flat rate of 20, and 1 DE. By making those tombstones based on the troop killed I can see that being a nice little feature. There must be a reason why SC has never decided to do this.

I think the most simple way to fix the loot problem is to drastically the loot cart refund... If the loot cart gives 75% of our lost resources back it will be a win-win solution to all players; Farmers won't have to worry stockpiling huge loot and the raiders will have plenty of loot to raid. Let's say, we lost 400k gold elix and 2000de, and we get refund 300k gold elix and 1500de each raid. Surely we won't miss that 100k gold elix 500 de and also we are all happy to loot 400k gold elix and 2000de.... I am going to spam this plea until SC implement this. This ought to make clash of clan fun to play

If that was implemented there would be no point in making good bases to defend. There would be no point in defending at all. Thereby making defenses moot. Thereby making the bases you fought lame. It's a simple idea, but you need to think about these changes would affect player behavior which is PRECISELY what I am trying accomplish with this concept.

Pigeon, and I in here discussed whether or not the interest would be enough to encourage people to save loot. So I was thinking of an additional benefit that could ALSO grow with each interest rate you gain. Something useful, but it's trade off isn't so great. Something elegant that could solve another of the game's issues.

Or going by your comment. You said you would want to avoid losing resources so maybe I should consider this as a risk vs reward point of view. So going off that maybe one would need a bigger reward.... The risk being losing more loot, but gaining more.... Hmmmmm

The idea is of course to modify player behavior. I keep saying that, but it's important.

I think, it would be best that if I do increase the reward for the risk of having so much loot I would think you would a benefit that may prove useful during raids along with increasing interest benefit. Something that makes raids easier, but having it means having a lot of loot in your storages.

I was was thinking increase your troops overall hp or defense, but that feels too easy. So I am trying to think of something else better than that if possible.

I get the idea that it will accelerate accumulation as you hold more, making it easier to get the last bit of loot for big upgrades, and I like that aspect of it, but it seems like it's unnecessarily complicated in a game where things are already becoming more complicated than most players would really like them to be.

Aye... It seems to be the consensus that my suggestion is just complicated. Maybe I should've just made a table with the percentages all laid out instead of just explaining the concept.

truth be told, the concept derives from a real life concept. It's basically A savings Account. It works just like one. The more you have in the bank the more interest it brings. So if the devs are adults, and have savings accounts also, it really shouldn't be all that complicated... Or at least I hope.

I made a new thread awhile ago that pretty much attempts the same thing this idea is attempting
that being to make players save loot, but different. The reason being was it seemed just adding interest on collectors wasn't enough to encourage players to save loot to me.
