Thanks Burke. I wasnt trying to play it, but this game was about everyone playing it their way. Now its about everyone playing it the same way. Thats HUGE. It changes the core underlying mechanics of the game that made it successful. I am literally looking at such a game-changer that it destroys the game....FOR EVERYONE. Without the "others" the game dies for everyone.
Agree with some points, but not all.
Concern that players are voicing their frustration is important, but SC doesn't play like regular buisiness, or even regular AAA developers for that matter.
Just read their "about us" on the main site and you'll see 3 big points:
1. They're in the business to make games, not money
2. Their recent financial success in CoC, Boom Beach, and Hay Day allow them to take big risks and do things no developer would ever dream of doing (short term hit to benefit long-term)
3. SB is behind them 100%, with a focus on 100 yr plans instead of 10yr plans.
So be mindful that they're more than willing to drop a large number of current players if a part of the game is unhealthy longterm, such as sniping.
Do I think the game is perfect? No. SC doesn't think it's perfect, pro-updaters don't think it's perfect, and even anti-updaters are fools to think Pre-TH11 CoC was perfect.
What people SHOULD do is constructively look at things to discuss to MOVE FORWARD, not backwards. Game not social anymore? Suggest a new feature that encourages staying online and social.
Loot troubles? Suggest new systems that don't violate the attack/defend core concept of the game. The Loot Cart update is not the last update; there's plenty to be done in the future.
Regressing into petitions to bring Sniping back isn't productive, and is a waste of time. But almost everything else is probably still on the table. And people on both sides should be mindful of the fact that constant, productive, and progressive discussion is what makes this game closer to perfection

Great posts and view points as others think its a player problem. Its a fun and entertainment problem.
IMO This game has lost its fun, if this game was truly about attacking and defending, we would be able to actually attack 100's of times a day if we had the time.
We are restricted to attack a low number amount of times because our troops/heros/spells etc take 2 hours to recover unless we want to pay $0.65/hr+ to attack every 30-45 minutes.
Like I have said numerous times, WAR is the best feature of this game. It gives you the ability to attack and defend. Multiplayer does not. Multiplayer is about bullying others weaker or less intelligent than you.
Attacking in multiplayer does not take skills, it only takes time. You can basically drop your golems, then spam every other troop and sporadically place spells anywhere your troops are and still get resources of out a base.
I do not think Sitting idle waiting for 1-2 hours on troops/heros/spells FUN.
I do not think Pushing for trophies is fun.
I do not think Watching my base lose progress because I was unable to login fun.
I do have fun actually doing the attack and crushing bases.
I do have fun participating in wars, organizing my clan and helping others get better at attacking.
I do have fun breaking a base down strategically and getting 3 stars.
What would bring FUN back to the game for me would be a MASSIVE reduction in Troop/Spell Costs and MASSIVE reduction in Troop/Spell/Hero Times.
If I could attack every 10-15 minutes with a Viable Attack worthy of 3 stars vs another base, I would be having fun.
Do you disagree with me on that?
