I agree TH sniping became an issue.

However their solution was the wrong one.
They created the problem by introducing league bonuses.

Why not fix the problem by removing league bonuses? They created the TH Sniping issue, and we the players ADAPTED to their change. Remove the league bonuses, keep TH worth a shield.

Simple.

Me too. Nobody cares specifically how they get the shield, but the mechanic of the shield is no longer existant.

Where SC would draw the line is up to them. Its arbitrary, but it should be there. Then SC would have a metric of how important the shield is to players.

Not so simple.
Even if removed the league bonuses, TH sniping would still be used, for the shield.
After all, not everyone using it, was in the higher leagues, where it got them high bonuses.
However, when discovered, and started to get heavy use, everyone saw the advantage of the free shield, at low losses.

Also, I already stated, we'd have seen the same troubles on the forums, just about the bonuses being removed.

No. Not simple at all. Remove league bonuses? Really? With people still complaining about loot?

Or shall we go crazy old school. 200k cap on storages, and that's it.
Sure, there were a lot of them around as the available % from storages was 20, so there were loads of 200/200 raids around.
That was before the TH out thing really caught on. Try financing th9 on that basis, with no league bonus, and being open to a 200/200 def yourself every time you broke shield....which of course was every time you attacked.

I've said this before in the millions of iterations of these very similar threads. You're seeing far less opposition from the people that started in 2012.
Because they knew the before-time. Pre-snipe.

They remember a virtually unworkable model before, sniping bypassed it as it caught on....and now there is the third age of clash.

the popularity of TH sniping had grown to such an extent that keeping your TH out for free shields was the ONLY way to play and progress pre-update. Otherwise, you were one of the poor unfortunate saps who got to make up all the matchmaking pool while 80% of everyone else was hiding.

TH sniping was a plague taking over the game and ironically, forcing everyone to play a certain way....

Everyone knows you can still progress, its the SNAILS PACE that weve been reduced to from TH11 update. When casual game players feel they maybe able to attain a high level, they stay and play and spend. Making progress for casuals into decades before you reach high lvls is an equation for them to loose interest and leave the game, rightly so.

Look every single game has it's exploits. The best players learn to use the exploits to their advantage. TH sniping just so happened to require the least amount of training/knowledge in order to use it. It just so happens that that exploit turned into a huge meta that 80% of players used. So in a sense of majority rule, it was a core mechanic as well an exploit.

Not true, SC said it was 80 odd % in ONE league, so nowhere near as common in the overall game as you keep trying to makeout.

It is an online game, and they DO change sometimes. Just not usually in such a sweeping fashion.

So, how do you like to play? Low league, high league, session or raid-train-log off come back in an hour?

If you can figure out how to get your fun back in clash, you can spread that through your clan.
I did. Had my suspicions of what would work during the sneak peeks, and shared them. Revised those in early days post-update.

An old forum mod named Loopy told me a good point that there isn't really a set definition for what makes a casual. How do we really know casuals care?
