Suggestions Please!

Just looking for some friendly criticism here! First on over all war base, then on troop composition and upgrading strategies. And please, be picky! Its okay to be almost insulting, just a "Looks good:thumbsup:" is useless.

As you can see, Im a TH 9 without Xbows. The idea behind this base is to eliminate the most common attack I receive in war, GoWiPe, by making the pekkas and golems circle. Its pretty effective for the average attack but can be weak to experienced gowipers or air raids. 9/10 Im the last upper tier player to be raided. Its an adaptation from a TH8 anti 3 that I would credit, but have forgotten the name.
Anyway, what defenses should be next? Should I keep getting walls for now while focusing on offense?

As for my troops, Giants are cookin in the lab. But my primary attack has been a Holaloonian consisting of:
♦2 Lavas
♦18 bloons
♦14 minions
♦8 hogs (+5 in CC)
♦2 arch
♦x2 Rage, x2heal, quake & poison
Basically draw cc, poison and few minions for cc troops, then drop hogs and heal for 1/2 AD + stray defenses. Then lava+loons+minions for the rest. Use the rest of the spells and have quake as backup/aid in tight spots. The heroes and pups usually do cleanup. This yields an easy two star on other TH9's or low 10's and in several occasions three stars, but its very hard to guarantee three. Any adjustments/suggestions?

My thought is, should I skip upgrading golems and witches entirely? Focus on heroes? I think lava hound is going to be the next DE upgrade after giants, but then my queen will probably go straight to 15 or 20 so I might be able to run a queen walk.

Your base is reasonably vulnerable to golaloon. The queen kill squad should likely take out both ADs & the queen & king & both air blowers. However since most average clans never use this, it may not be a real concern. (As an experiment I put up a base that was ridiculously vulnerable to that by putting all ADs near each other - they still gowiped) . (prolly bring 2 golems to be sure, no need for earthquake.)

As for upgrades I'd say air but again those attacks are so rare.. Maybe archer towers since they defend vs both types of attacks? Then teslas?

As for troops I would focus on getting the queen to ten ASAP but maybe while she's upgrading you can manage to farm golems up? I would still do lavas first, but golems are important in many good attack styles.

Forgot add: goho surgical could also be quite successful. Your traps will kill a few, but probably not enough. Losing both king & Queen to the kill squad won't help matters either, and a lot of peripheral defences will be focusing on the core golems/king to worry about the hogs.

Get those golems up ASAP, and then max heal spell. GoHo is most powerful attack at TH9 currently, I would highly recommend you master it :)

Looks like a good TH9 start.. once your golems are up to 4 I'd put your bows down (just lvl1) and get your walls to 8+ (level 9 would be ideal)

Good stuff man, keep going hard on those heroes too!

Thanks for your input!:D I agree, air raids are way underutilized, which is why that has been my main type of attack. I think I will go ahead and make archer towers my first defensive upgrades. I would go for the golem upgrades but considering Im already doing okay in attacking with air I thought Id wait for awhile. (Ill be sure to get them to lvl 4 at least before I go to TH10)

Regarding your end note, surgical? Whats the difference between that and a regular goho? What would you suggest I change to compensate for that? In the beginning you mentioned the kill squad taking out king and queen, Im assuming I should first separate the two, then what else?

Thanks for the suggestion! After giants are lvl 6 the heal was going to be my next elixer upgrade:) The walls Ive been dreading. Like I mentioned above Id like to get archer towers up. But you cant go wrong with walls...:unsure:

Sorry don't have time to reply at length right now but surgical is a deployment style for the hogs that can lower the effectiveness of bombs and spring traps, depending on how they are arranged. (Obviously if they are set vs that style not so much)
