Is there a way to send away town visitors? I can't find it.
Once they're in a shop?
After you've clicked to see what the person requests, click again to send them off! Click, drag train icon down!
I can't do it. I'm in my town. I click on Grocery Store or Cinema. I click a visitor icon. I click it again. Nothing happens.Quote:

Also, this is from the Town FAQ:
"Q: Why can't I send away visitors? The send away is greyed out.
A: The send away will unlock when you hit Reputation Level 3. This is done to ensure that the tutorial flow works as designed"

Oh and Happy farming! It took me a while to figure it out in the beginning- some orders I DID NOT want to fill :p :)
Like Gertie says, once the visitor is in a shop if they haven't been served you will see one of the little "switch windows" rotary icons below the visitor's order. If you tap the icon it will show this little person with the train. Drag that onto the visitor like you would to fill an order and the visitor will go back to the platform.

This works whether the visitor is in their first shop or a later shop. For example, I've already served this person in one shop. The B&B is the second shop she has visited. I will serve her. (She's been waiting quite a while for service because she wants a blanket.:p) I can switch back to the order window: I don't have to send her to the platform.
Some of us send every townie who wants to visit 3 shops straight back to the platform.

Keep at it, you'll reach level three much more quickly than you think. :)
When you get there, you can also send them away direct from the list in the town hall. I have to admit I never realised you couldn't send away at first - seems an odd restriction to me...
