Things that annoy me with Hay Day

First a caveat; I like this game. It's easy entertainment and passes time. But certain things annoy me and I feel a need to ventilate. Please add to the list if you feel the need too. :)

- the uneven distribution of materials. I need land deeds but only get markers and mallets. Other need mallets and have oodles of land deeds. It's like the game knows what you need and deny you these pieces to force you in to using diamonds.

- the surplus of eggs, bacon and eggs & bacon in the news paper. Do we really need to continue produce and harvest this if there is such a surplus?

- if I need a certain item for the boat or to expand the game, again, seems to know this and it will not be for sale in my edition of the news paper. For example, the plain white sweater is always on sale in my news paper. But now when the boat requires it there is not a single sweater on sale...

- the gift cards. Why aren't they automatically sent out? Why only five a day? I revived an entire farm, over 30 trees and bushes, but didn't get a single gift card. Probably the owner never sent the cards which makes me reluctant to help out again.

- vouchers... Wy do I have 15 green vouchers and not a single blue, purple or gold? I understand that some are more rare than others but this is ridiculous!

- the wheel of fortune jumps over the more desirable items! Today it stopped on the golden ticket and then suddenly jumped one extra slot only to land on an apple. Gee, thanks!

- the wheel of fortune again. The idea of a luck based game is that you have an equal opportunity to win every item. So how come I've won wheat about 20 times but only once the spin again and not once the golden ticket despite playing the wheel every day?

thats certainly quite a handful of "complaints" you have there! i absolutely agree with everything you just said though, and not forgetting stuff like lack of diamond confirmation and rants about getting lousy and irrelevant items from the postman mystery packages etc etc. some of what you wrote could certainly go under the requests and suggestions section BUT the bottomline is - i've stopped having expectations about how the game "should be" and accepted that some things will perhaps not gonna have any changes to my liking. i've started to just enjoy the game and sometimes try to have a workaround ie. trading when i get too little/too many of certain items. all in all, yes, if you're the impatient sort then use diamonds to obtain them ie. vouchers, expansion items. or just be patient and wait. this game requires lots of patience anyway so i've accepted this fact.

Yes, I agree with you. Patience is needed when playing. I guess my main annoyance is the way the game developers push us towards buying diamonds (I've not bought ant diamonds and never will). Many aspects of the game seem to be luck based but are infact controlled buy the game code. Hence for example the wheel of fortune skipping the more desirable objects. All to make us buy diamonds which I find a bit unfair and rather unethical.

and when i use a precious gold/pruple lure and the rudd comes and eats it!

when will i get my speckled dace and longear sunfish, only two more to get my 30-fish-notsogrand-slam...

I must admit that I too have noticed that if I'm collecting items for my boat, they are nowhere to be found in the paper. I need roasted tomatoes, something I was seeing all the time, but now they are invisible! Happens too many times to be a sheer coincidence. But I love Hay Day, warts and all, as the saying goes!!

This has got to be true. A new boat came in yesterday evening. I am only 3 boats away from Capt 3. I needed carrot juice and ice cream and milk i think. I had a bit of carrot juice and lots of milk. And only one ice cream. So i filled the milk crates, one of the carrot juice crates and asked for help on 2 carrot juice and one ice cream. Before opening the boat i had scoured the newspaper and my neighbours for carrot juice and not one was to be found. Days before this i had seen ice cream as common as bacon. So i figured ice cream would be easy. I only needed four!! Well HA!! lol. Now carrot juice is a dime a dozen since those crates are filled and not one ice cream is to be found anywhere. And i don't have an ice cream machine. could kick myself for not having bought one before now. Smh. I swear the game knows!!:rolleyes:

i'm not sure if i agree everything is controlled and not by sheer luck. there were countless times i did get things like gold vouchers, necklaces or expansion items off the wheel, EXCEPT for the bike which i cannot get no matter how many times i tried. super jealous of some of the level 14 players who got 3 to 4 bikes at their farms! lol. also regarding diamonds, yes they do hope you'll buy but there are several ways to get them and i'm sure you know that already. for myself i usually get them via the mystery boxes or from the mine (i get tom to fetch shovels) so i've never spent money on diamonds too and never will. so once again if you have the patience, you'll be able to get diamonds from the game without spending a single cent. whatever it is, what i'm happy and grateful is that the game allows you to ACTUALLY progress without spending any money, and it rewards you with a diamond + xp points when you watch the ad trailers. many apps do not. they just flash an ad at random whether you like it or not, and that is abrupt and annoying. sometimes you just have to think about the good!
