Whats the point on farming?

Its so stupid, whats the point on losing every battle? whats the point on seeing red lines on the battle log?
Hybrid is much better, for example, every time i am coming after night or w/e i am getting 50+ trophies, its fun, it is giving motivation to continue attacking and playing. Leave the shield, its sux, when u are getting shield and you want to attack, you are canceling it anyways so its not helping at all (anyways on hyrid like 50% of the time i am getting free shield, but breaking it for attack). So can someone tell me whats the point here? The resources? The trophies? You can still get huge amount of resources every attack on hybrid base.

It's a matter of personal preference really:

Hybrid:
-Pros: Win battle occasionally and gives u motivation | The attacker might get mad at themselves for losing, therefore a positive thing for you.
-Cons: Protects resources worse than a farming layout, since you have to dedicate more walls to protecting the TH

Farming:
-Pros: Protects loot better, since you kick out TH | Get free shield and usually only get attacked once per night.
-Cons: Losing battles, and might dissuade/demotivate you from playing, although for me, losing battles won't | You might make the attacker feel proud since they 'won' the battle

If you choose the hybrid, keep in mind, losing your resources doesn't mean you lose the battle. You could lose your resource and the attacker get less than 40%, you won't get a shield. Imagine if that happened all through the night, and when you wake up, you win 100 trophies, but lose 50k+ of each per battle. I would consider that too.

Farming layouts on the other hand, is much more 'specialised' and protecting loot is its number 1 priority, therefore does it better. Why would losing battles demotivate you anyway? You lose battles on purpose. You shouldn't feel bad.

On other thing, hybrid can never be as good at protecting both trophies or resource than a Trophy or Farming base can respectively.

Your title is very misleading, it should instead be whats the point of farming bases, as farming and farming bases are completely different.

Anyway farming bases waste less walls, but more importantly give free shields. Who cares if you are losing 7 ish trophies when you sleep? I gain that in an attack. Free shields are important if you have a lot in your storages. Would you rather lose 200k gold and elixir or 7 trophies? Farming bases aren't very important until th7, as then you have much more available in the storages. But it's good to use it before to save walls at th5+.

Plus I don't care about "winning attacks". I know that just by slapping on the word winning or losing doesnt really mean that I won or lost in clash of clans. The free shield and keeping my resources IMO is "winning".

farming base makes it easier to protect your resources.
and you say why do you need free sheilds? I say why do you need trophies..
in the end farming is not really about the base but more about your goals..which are gettin as much loot as you can.

In simple terms farming is about making and protecting as much resource as you possibly can - largely disregarding the trophy count.

Trophies only matter to get into a desired range. League Bonuses are nice, but finding a good spot for loot is better.

There's no correct way to play this game.

Personally, I'm happy with 9 out of 10 attacks on my base just stealing 1k gold and 1k elixir for the TH then quitting and giving me a shield.

Fair play to anyone though that enjoys a good defensive win. Sure, you'll lose more resources and will probably have to do a few more battles but if it's more fun for you then cool.
