Just wanted to say thanks to the op for this base. I've been running it since the day after this thread was created. I couldn't believe this thread didnt gain more popularity as, in my opinion, this is the best base I've seen and I'm a long time lurker of these boards. I've also screen shot you're trophy base that ill using during our next push. Great job, thanks

Thanks 8e7, I really appreciate the support. My trophy push went very nicely and I wish you the best of luck during yours. I did update some of the funnels, you can spectate my base and see them - just the funnels, leave everything else the same. Hopefully when I get my computer fixed I can upload some pictures.

Great base, I actually searched your clan and took a look at your current setup and copied it... I've just went to TH9 less than a week ago.. Most attacks I'm getting are picking on collectors or TH. Only one serious attack that got 1 elixir storage and 1 gold storage, I wonder how good would it be after my xbows are up and working. Been using Pingfao layout as TH8 and I think this base is the TH9 equivalent. Keep up the good work

Thanks for the great layout. I just hit TH9 (after the agonizing grind to max out everything at TH8) and am looking for a world-class farming layout.

Two questions:
1) How does this layout work if the traps have already been sprung? As in, does it still work OK if you don't replenish the traps after every attack?

2) Why is everything outside of your walls set at least one space away from your wall? I thought you'd want your collectors (at least) snug against your walls to maximize coverage from your archers/cannons that are in range.

I think it depends on what you want, Setting the buildings 1 space beyond walls has two advantages: 1) longer distance for WB to get to your walls means higher chance of it getting snapped by your defenses. 2) it means your collectors are partially unprotected which means attacker who target your collectors will most likely target your TH too and giving you a free shield with minimum troops lost making it a more desirable target by those kind of attackers.

However, if you think resources from collectors are too precious then you can set them next to your walls with no spaces left between them, just like pingfao TH8 farming layout

Thanks mavios, I'm glad you found my current 'transformer' layout, it is my favourite so far. I plan on posting a more conclusive thread comprising of all my TH9 designs in the near future :)

I think mavios answered your query pretty well! The traps do help against giant but having funnels helps with or without traps since any troops will walk right into the path of splash. I've had multiple attacks without the traps during my push and it still performed very well. As for building placements outside the walls, do what suits you, I only keep them far out because there is usually nothing in them and they hinder attacker's wallbreakers.

This is one of the best layout's out there, AND it doesn't use the boring 6x6 core *yaawn* Very good work, and thanks for giving me inspiration when it comes to cores :)
