I thank you both for your input. I've decided to go for the fishing and save back up for the juicer. I think I'm leveling up fastest than I probably should but IDK. 😕 Regardless, I'm just going to keep at it. ☺ Thanks again to all who posted!

Level up as fast as you can! If you got the coins to hang go for it! I leveled up very fast, I used Tom, but didn't buy diamonds for a long time. You can work on your fishing book now & if you get EMs you Can open a new fishing spot!
Fishing is the correct choice!
The coins that Gertie mentions are the key. I quickly discovered that I was much happier leveling up slowly so that when I arrived at a new level, I had the coins necessary to buy the machines and features available. Of course, I was back to "broke" once I bought the machine, but at least I wasn't stacking up machines that I needed to buy while the truck and boat orders came in for those items.
I also had to work to scrape up 15 diamonds to hire Tom for a day. Eventually, I decided that I was better off using those diamonds to open new production slots on machines like dairy, sugar, bread oven and animal feed. Some people keep Tom running all the time. I only hire him occasionally for special events or if I need diamond rings, axes/saws, or mining equipment.
Boogleloo, you have reached the delightful stretch where you are going to have lots of features and machines opening up simultaneously. I found it almost impossible to amass enough coins to be ready for the new things unless I leveled up comparatively slowly. And that was before bees, ducks and a bunch of machines were introduced at the "mid-levels". There is no wrong way to farm. You can't ruin your farm--nothing dies in Hay Day. Eventually you will want to open everything, so don't worry if you think you've made a "mistake". The one caveat I have is save your original treees. Those trees that are frosty and snow-covered are not replaceable. The ones you buy (if ever) stay green all year.
Happy farming!
Thanks for the insight!
MiniGardener, I understand what you're saying. I figure I'll just have to play slower and be behind re machines and such and just save and buy when I can. Thanks for the heads up on the trees, their pretty but I have NO plans of expanding my farm anytime soon so I'm pretty much trying to clear the decks. I figure I can " see" the seasons only unlocked areas. ☺Thanks for the info!
I'm late to the party, but both are valuable.
If you have a lot of Axes and can keep your Apple & Cherry supplies up the Juice Press is quite handy to make even more coins out of them.
But if you have an Axe shortage definitely get fishing first.
While if you just want a new game experience added to Hay Day also get fishing first, it's different and quite fun. :)
One possible reason to prefer fishing over the jam makers: there are wide events for fishing (which can get you prizes and 5 diamonds for a world-wide event);
There currently are no events for the jams.. at least not directly.. (There are events for trucks, boats and town tho and these oders may ask for jam).
I think fishing was the right move. Apart from participating in fishing events and being able to make the fish products, you can earn diamonds via the fish book.
You got excellent advice on using your LEMs on fishing! Don't worry about expanding the land - get the fishing area expanded and let the farmland be a little crammed till that's done. Fishing actually helps with the game while land is just appearance.
If you're not part of a hood and wanted to temporarily join the hood of my feeder farm, I could give you some materials through that. (I don't do RSS.) I usually keep 15-20 of each item even though I'm long done with expansions. PM me if you're interested.
There are no wrong decisions in this game (seriously. You play as you see fit!), so fishing area was the right move. :D Good luck saving up for the other machines now! :)
I can definitely speak in favour of expanding fishing area before farmland! I have all spots open now and am now sloowwwly working on my farm xD
