New Feature: Taking Over Dead Clans

I'd like to see a way for a clan to absorb a dead clan, for the purposes of helping the absorbing clan grow.

Scenario: There is a clan whose leader and co-leaders have been inactive for 30 days. These players simply have not logged into the game for that long. Meanwhile, their clan still has some members who are actively playing. These members could leave the clan if they wanted, but for various reasons of their own, opted to remain.

Another clan, with less than 10 members, is having trouble to gaining enough members to start a clan war. If they had the ability to absorb a dead clan, they could "rescue" the few active members of that clan, and finally gain enough members to launch a clan war.

Ideally, a player could start his/her own clan, and then go about absorbing several other dead clans until they gained enough members to launch a war.

Benefits

• This makes it easier to build a new clan
• This reduces the number of dead clans
• This increases the number of clan war searches
• This reduces the time it takes to find a clan war match
• Having more clan wars increases the purchase of gems

Operation

When viewing a clan's details, add a button that says, "Absorb", located next to the "Join" button.

The Absorb button will be green if the clan is eligible to be absorbed. Or, grey if it is not.

A clan is eligible to be absorbed if...

• the leader and co-leaders have not logged into the game for 30 days or more.
• the merging of both clans will result in a total membership of 50 or less.

Once absorbed...

• All members of the absorbed clan lose their status and become "member".
• Absorbed members can now be kicked from the clan.
• The absorbed clan loses its clan XP points (they do not transfer to the merged clan)

If my clan of close friends and family decided to take a break to take care of life business and we came backe to find a bunch of 12 yr old running our clan and booted half of us out id be ♥♥♥♥♥♥. And all our hard work to get clan level 9 and 120+ war wins were erased. Smh no way i dont even want to imagine this.

There should be an ability to like, make a meaning, for example, if a leader is going inactive or the clan is going inactive and will come back in 31 days, they should be able to inform SC about the holiday and make their clan in-absorbable

Or if the chat is offline for more than 30days the clan ends. Possible as hoppers still join and leave but the really dead clans would dissipate.

It's sad that this has to be mentioned in order for supercell to even consider this idea :(

Maybe the few active players in the dead clan can choose if they wanna be absorbed or not...?

How about....the players who aren't currently active can come back any time they wish and the active players can leave to join a different clan if they dont like the direction their current clan is heading? This sounds like a silly idea for a purpose that doesnt seem.very important to the game mechanics.

It's IS important to the game mechanics, because as it stands now, it's become increasingly difficult for someone to start successful new clan. No one wants to join a clan with only 1 or 2 members. This idea makes it possible to build a 10+ member clan by absorbing the few active players in dead clans.

Not definitively true, it can be argued clan wars decreases gem sales.

OP, after 180 days, maybe, and then only if the leader has not set the clan to be 'unabsorbable'.

This won't be implemented though.

I can, you should first not post under dead threads. Second, you have to stand in between 4 doors all facing different directions (north, south, west and east). Than you should start a little fire and sing a song: 'Rains of Castamere'. When you are done with it, you should take of your shoes and put them into the fire. If it goes green, you shall shout the name of the clan 3 times. Then wash yourself. You have to go in order or it wont work. Good luck

It doesn't exist. The only way it could is if SC put it in, but they aren't going to do that. The absorb button is not a thing. If you want to recruit from a dead clan, then go to that dead clan and recruit them manually

in čases of military serving overseas they are sometimes forced away from the game far longer thsn 30 days. It can be several months. There are resons it can be longer still but the reason doesnt matter, if they can come back then they might, and to your point they should not come back and find the clan they paid for is now someone elses property.

The OP is actually suggesting he should be granted the right to sieze another persons property because they do not appear to be using it. Although the cost is greater for a car the argument is no different than saying if a person has been away for a while the manufacturer should issue him a set of keys so he can take that car for himself. But really his only justification is that he wants it.

It strikes me that if the person simply convinced the few members still active in that clan to come over to his clan thats the same thing. Is there a difference I am missing here?

They already have this option - leave the clan ...

I do not think that it is possible to your question, since some are inactive by subjects of work but equal to and playing and the moment that you say that they absorb the clan and easily lose the members that say clan took in getting that would be bad.

What's the difference between this and manually going to the clan. They're some people who don't play for a month due to work or military service. Unless there's a form of restriction this can bring more harm than good. It's a good idea, nonetheless perhaps you might revise it.

This idea is actually pretty good. But instead of taking over, something like 'Temporary Leader/Co-Leader' would be better. So what I mean by that is someone else would be able to start to manage the dead clans, start clan wars, etc, without having the ability to kick the 'original/old' members and leaders of the dead clan.

This is literally never going to happen and spending any energy considering it would be a total waste.

I prefer a temporary clan leader, merging could still work, they could accept the merge offer and then merge clans.

Has anyone counted how many clans are level 10+, closed, with a single member?

This is a seriously unpleasant idea, which will have zero benefit to anybody, while being harmful to thos unwillingly "absorbed".

I can think of no possible circumstance in which it would be acceptable to force the members of one clan into another.

If they hav "various reasons of their own" for staying, then they want to stay there. What right should anybody else have to override that.

Litteraly the worst idea ive seen so far 👀

Maybe the active members have to agree on the absorbtion so that their clan doesn't get helplessly leeched out of their command.

Some people in the past have suggested that when a Leader becomes absent for a specified period, that the clan members can then (by some method) assign a new Leader from the clan membership. To me, that is a much better solution since that would be self determination within the clan to reestablish leadership.

Currently, unless the clan is Closed, you can already absorb an "agreeing clan", all you have to do is visit them, and propose a merger to them. If they agree, they leave that clan, and join yours. Even with your suggestion, I suspect you would have to visit them anyway. Doubt if any clan would accept an unsolicited takeover bid without discussion first.

My own clan grew by merger a year ago. I picked a clan at at random, visited them, and quickly noted that our two clans would be a good match. Open discussions in chat with them, returned to my clan to also discuss with them, and once all parties on both sides agreed, we merged.

I never heard a worse idea...
