First i read through the current ideas (and ruled out ones) I even searched the forums for info, but only found a couple very old (2013/2014) posts. If i missed something please let me know! ................
Anyone who has been badly mismatched will certainly understand this request. You would need to be careful in implementation to prevent abuse, but I have some ideas related to that which may help.
1. Clan war surrender only available during preparation day. You cannot surrender just because attacks are not going your way. Once war starts you are in. You could even make it first hour or first 3 hours as long as its something reasonable.
2. For surrendering clan, timeout period to prevent abuse. I actually suggest this be smaller, the whole point is letting them try for a better matchup 2-12 hours. Max id say 24. Anything more than that and they might as well just wait for war to end anyway.
3. For opposing clan. War continues as normal. You still star bases, get xp based on bases starred etc. They would have an advantage since the castles will likely not have troops in, but if its bad enough to surrender they would have won anyway. This way there is no disadvantage to the opposing clan.
4. Only leader (or possibly coleader) can surrender.
I have no idea what supercell's algorithm is, only that its based on "strength". I have heard arguments that the range you are allowed to be matched with is increased over time (this makes a lot of sense if you think about it). So you could potentially limit this as well to cases where the
strength clan 1 - strength clan 2 > normal range for search
But that may be going a bit far, just a suggestion.

For def structures All are maxed on opponents side for level
For our side id say 90% max defenses, a few xbos/infernos are not upgraded yet, lower T10 and T9s have lower air defenses. The matchup stays that bad throughout the entire list, until you get to the very bottom, where they have some a couple of TH3s and two TH5s (rest are 6+). We have 3 TH5s, rest are 6+.
Would i forfeit if i could? Absolutely. Its a waste of 2 days for us, there is 0 potential for winning. We have won against stronger clans before, so i know its possible, but this matchup isnt.
