NICK. Please help re CURRENT TOWN EVENT

I have a problem with the Town Event.

When the event started I only had a couple of people actually served and a couple 'being served' (as I'd done a few Town Tasks). I checked to see if they got Double Coins because I can never remember when that kicks in for this event. They didn't and I didn't think much of it (other than to try to remember for next time!).

So, I know my town was empty after those few.

I served eggspress arrivals (in 1/2/3 shops) and ones I picked up from neighbours. I used a lot of diamonds sending my PT out early to collect more and I've served them things I generally don't. I've been serving pretty much non stop since the event started...loads.

I noticed the the coins were yellow, not purple, and thought it a bit odd, but then thought maybe I misremembered them being purple...I used a lot of diamonds to try to see what they were offering in purple coins when I served them, then seeing what they were actually giving me (diamonds to speed them up so I could check immediately & without confusion).

I checked here to see if anyone else had reported it and they hadn't (there was only the thread you closed) so I thought it really must just be me imagining the purple coins...but I just checked with a friend and hers are purple (and double for the same item).

I haven't been been gettng double coins :(

Current town event not working. Serving visitors from neighborhood rail road mainly, usually one task.

I have two devices, one android, one iPad.

Neither farm shows double coins or coin bonus. Both have animations and text indicating bonus GIFTS are being given, but barn is not showing the addition of two items as per the animations.

Farms - stripe34 (gc) level 62 and Stripe 4 (google plus) level 40...

PS confirmed this with friends. Neither double coins NOR double bonus gifts occurring.

I wasn't expecting double gifts. What made you think about double gifts? I'd happily settle for double coins as per the Event bulletin.

Double gifts are just an illusion. It shows you the Gift, then later you see it fly up into your barn, so it looks like two gifts, but is only ever one gift, and that is the way it is supposed to be. #Noglitch.

No double/pink coins, however, sounds like a glitch. #yesglitch! #lurkersneedscreenshots #pinkpound

I was really hoping I had received those double gifts because I NEED those screws! So, what are we supposed to expect now?

It is a Double Coin Event (as per the poster on your board, on your farm).

Very occasionally they run Double XP/Double :heart: Events, but I've never seen a Double 'gift' Event.

Maybe be there's some confusion over 'Reward' being used in general for coins/XP/:heart: & some people thinking it relates to the gifts?!

As far as the double gifts we're seeing... it is a program glitch i guess, because we are not getting them (nor double coins for this town event).

What you see, as you accept a gift from a newly served town zombie, is the first gift in its usual starburst. Then the coins and XP are credited. Then *ANOTHER* identical gift is displayed and flies into barn, with the word BONUS on it.

I have screen caps from devices showing this.

There's a short delay between accepting first gift / coins, and bonus gif graphic, so if you are collecting gifts quickly, you may not notice the bonus graphics in all the flying info...

From the sound of it...

There is no "bonus gift" glitch.

What you are seeing is normal, it is the animation as it is supposed to be when we get a gift from our fully served customers. We get one gift, known as the bonus, and it is shown to us first before being shown separately, in a second animation, flying upwards into our barns. One gift only, never two gifts, never doubled for an event (so far) and never supposed to be more than one gift.

As for double coins, the amount shown in pink has already been doubled, I think, so we don't get double the amount shown in pink. I may be wrong about that but I think I am right. So if your town customers have their coin amount in pink, then you should be fine? Is it in pink? If not, then a glitch....

SmallChange definitely has a coin glitch as the coin amount is shown in yellow as normal instead of the event pink/purple.

Never noticed the second "bonus" gift animation... I did check coin amounts after a while and it must be doubled from what they usually pay. It is about Road Side Stand retail, sometimes a smidge more.

The coins themselves are yellow, but the number/amount next to tjhe yellow coin is pink/purplee (the numbers next to xp and town heart are white).

I just checked back with the team, and the event is working as supposed. You get 2x coins, but how it is shown is a bit different from other 2x coin events. I am checking if we could improve this in future updates! :)

I also want to say that I had a great conversation with SOMEONE (yes, an ACTUAL PERSON!!) through the in game 'help & support' reporting. It made such a lovely change and huge difference. I wish it was always like that ;)

I would have put money on the 'flying coins' showing as 'purple' in previous events?! I definitely think it would be good if they did to align with the other events.

Thanks Perky, I thought they did. I'm still not convinced I was actually gettng the double coins :confused:
