Yes. Necessary for max players. Not for non max players. Response was on post for converting medals into gems as th12 or lower.

Pretty much any offense/defensive troop,spell, hero, building are weak at level 1.

Agreed. Multi inferno is killer for almost all non-tank troops once the inferno is level 4 and up. I use miners a lot and I'd say multi infernos are...

I'm not sure what tier your clan is in, but generally, not doing CWL is slowing your progression. It would be far better to get 8 stars 6 tiers down...
